Noel Turner, MD, MHS, is a caring dermatologist and dermatopathologist serving both adult and pediatric patients in Madison, Connecticut and the surrounding area. Dr. Turner and the team at Integrated Dermatology of Clinton in Madison are experts in complete dermatologic care, including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Turner earned his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, graduating summa cum laude with both neuroscience departmental and university honors. He then moved to New Haven, Connecticut where he earned his medical doctorate and master of health science degrees from Yale University School of Medicine. His medical school research in Marcus Bosenberg’s lab laid the groundwork for a mouse model of the anti-melanoma immune response still in use today, and his thesis, entitled “Evaluation of the Mechanisms of Anti-Cancer Immune Responses,” was awarded the top thesis prize in 2019.
Following medical school, Dr. Turner completed his internal medicine internship, dermatology residency, and dermatopathology fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during his final year of residency. Over the course of his training, he developed an expertise in the diagnosis and management of common skin conditions including skin cancer, acne/rosacea, psoriasis, dermatitis, hair loss, and disordered pigmentation as well as a high level of comfort with complex dermatologic conditions including cutaneous lymphoma, autoimmune blistering diseases, and the skin manifestations of connective tissues diseases such as lupus, scleroderma, and dermatomyositis.
In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Turner remains engaged in academic dermatology. As a volunteer faculty member at Yale, he lectures dermatology residents and serves as an attending physician for their outpatient clinics. His recent contributions to the dermatology literature include a study on the non-surgical management of low-grade squamous proliferations on the extremities of elderly patients and a review of the pitfalls of PRAME, an immunohistochemical stain increasingly used in the diagnosis of melanoma.
When he’s not at work, Dr. Turner enjoys spending time with his wife, a dermatology resident, and his 1-year-old daughter, Marlowe. Although he loves trying new restaurants, kayaking, reading, and traveling, he spends most of his free time these days playing with toys and listening to the music of Ms. Rachel.
