I had the pleasure of bringing my son to see Dr. DeForest, and I must say, she exceeded all expectations. A a parent who has been through several provider visits, I’ve seen my share of doctors and can say that Dr. DeForest truly sShow moretands out with her exceptional bedside manner. She was thorough, kind, and amazing in how she interacted with my son while gathering information from me. Following the assessment she explained the diagnosis, provided feedback and made sure that I had referrals and resources in hand prior to leaving the appointment. The entire staff at the practice was equally kind and considerate, creating a sensory-friendly and socially accommodating environment for my son. It was a far more pleasant experience than previous appointments we’ve had elsewhere. I highly recommend Dr. DeForest! She truly made a positive impact on our visit, and I’m grateful for her expertise and care.

Patricia K. DeForest, DO, is a board-certified pediatrician who has specialized expertise in attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) and child development. Dr. DeForest treats patients at the San Antonio branch of THINK Neurology for Kids in Texas.
Dr. DeForest majored in education for her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University – Kingsville, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1990. She went on to earn a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2004. After teaching students and professional development for 20 years, Dr. DeForest pursued her passion for medicine. She enrolled at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, to complete her medical degree in 2015.
As a native Texan, Dr. DeForest returned to complete a pediatric residency and a pediatric palliative and hospice medicine fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UT Health in San Antonio, treating children with multiple medical complexities for three years. She also served as a general pediatrician in Rolla, Missouri, for two years and was named Preceptor of the Year in 2022. She recently joined THINK Neurology for Kids to merge her knowledge of education with her medical expertise to benefit children with developmental disorders. Dr. DeForest holds certification from the American Board of Pediatrics.
When she is not devoting her time to young patients, Dr. DeForest enjoys spending time with her husband, adult children, grandchildren, and labrador fur babies.

We are very appreciative of the service that this clinic provides. The staff are always courteous and we are seen in a timely manner. Dr. DeForest takes her time to discuss things with us and it is also very easy to get in touch with staff in between visits.
Doctor and staff was very caring and helpful and patient with my grandson and I. Doctor explained everything and answered every question and went beyond to help with other school questions I had. Everyone was very friendly to my daughter and I. We felt comfortable and seen and heard.
We had a telehealth visit with the Dr. and it was convenient and we didn’t have to wait long for the call from the Dr. she listened to our concerns and was able to provide some guidance to help our son.
Very informative and explains everything so well. I learned a lot about my child and got some great resources.
Mrs. Defrost got my daughter to smile and be happy to meet her on her first visit which is hard to do. She also paid attention to her behavior and notice things right away to get her tested for to be sure there isn’t an underlying issue. I could tell she loves what she does. Awesome

Our son is Autistic and has anxiety about Dr's and dr visits. The office was very clean. They had different toys to keep him occupied while we were discussing things about him. Dr DeForest was very kind and did not push medication. We had a wonderful experience.
