I was sick for about a week, I made an appointment and was able to see the nurse practitioner. She made sure the medication I received did not interact with my other medications that I am taking, in the past my cough doesn’t get bShow moreetter unless I take something with codeine. She told me that I couldn’t take codeine due to other medications. She gave me something else for my cough with one does I was able to sleep a lot better than I have been due to my coughing. I recently started seeing the doctor said this office and I am totally happy with their service, I give them five stars all the way
I feel so lucky to have Rena Kalter as my primary care provider. She is a caring, attentive and knowledgeable. I’ve been to numerous doctors of different specialities and she is by far the BEST! I’ve had so many unexplained symptoShow morems that greatly interfered with my quality of life for over a decade. Most doctors didn’t take the time to listen or dismissed my pain/symptoms. Rena was the only provider who listened and ordered right tests that led to my current diagnosis. Since my diagnosis I’ve improved so much because it’s being treated appropriately. She respects and appreciates the knowledge I have about my conditions. Rena Kalter is one in a million!
About 'Joan' Qiong Wang
‘Joan’ Qiong Wang is a board-certified family and primary care nurse practitioner at Prima Medicine in Fairfax and South Riding, Virginia. Joan has over 20 years of clinical nursing experience, working with diverse patients, from HIV/AIDS patients to those in intensive care units. With each patient, Joan seeks to bring compassion into every interaction.
Joan received her nursing diploma in 1997 from Hangzhou Normal University in Hangzhou, China. After graduation, she traveled to the Philippines to complete her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Adventist University of the Philippines in 2002.
Following her bachelor’s degree, she pursued her Master’s of Public Health (with a central focus on Health Promotion) at Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, Master’s of Science in Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Loma Linda University, as well as her Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certification through George Washington University.
Through continuing education, Joan strives to learn at every chance that allows her to better the lives of her patients. She is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

I sustained a knee injury playing tennis. I called Prima in the morning, and got an appointment with Joan Wang for that afternoon. I got in with no waiting, and Joan was great. She listened carefully, 'got' that I was generally strong and in good health for a 74 year old, and gave me excellent advice as to how to move forward with treatment and physical therapy. I have been a Prima member for seven years, and recommend it, and Joan, highly.

NP Wang is friendly, caring, intelligent, professional, and a person who listens attentively to what her patient has to say. She is knowledgeable and makes suggestions regarding living a healthy lifestyle, explains the results of various tests, and why a medication should be taken and how to take it.
I was seen promptly and well taken care of. The nurse was very thorough and precise.
The entire staff are exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. I never feel rushed, and they always take time to respond to my questions. I am extremely happy with everyone from the front desk to the doctors. They all take excellent care of me.

Great experience with Nurse Wang, she answered any and all questions/concerns. Wait time was reasonable also. Also big thank you to the lab associate that did my blood work- super painless, quick and easy!!

The NP is very nice and helpful. However, since I am getting charged to see a doctor, it would be nice to actually see the doctor when I schedule a visit.

FNP Joan/Wang has been excellent for many visits. She is very patient and takes the time to explain all concerns in depth. She provides clear instructions for treatments and health improvements, and she has been very accommodating with my schedule. The rest of the office staff and nurses are also very quick and friendly. It’s very painless to check in and have blood work taken. Great experience all around!
Kind & caring.
Had an appointment yesterday with Joan Qiong Wang FNP. From the start I felt good about the appointment. I was greeted with a friendly smile from the staff at the front desk and my appointment started on time. FNP Wang greeted me promptly and was very friendly. She listened intently to what I had to say and came up with solid solutions that worked for me. This is just one example of the kind of world class service I have come accustomed to at Prima medicine.
