I like seeing Dr. Prakash, and have been seeing him for years. He works both at Gessner and Katy offices and sees at Memorial Hermann at Gessner. He takes time to learn the patient and consider alternatives based on history and Show morelabs done. Very friendly and cool doctor and he was always looking after my best interest and ensuring my kidneys don't deteriorate worse than before. Staff are also good and attentive and willing to do what they can to help. Just be nice and understanding with them and they'll do what they can. He set up his office and staff nicely. Pretty clean and open facilities. And after the visit, the assistant will always review over what has been covered and remind you on the next appointment and give you the blood work right there for you to do about a week prior to appointment. I would have liked if Memorial Hermann, the hospital itself, has more network establish with people on Medicaid, so I would see him there in case I have to be admitted. But I never hope it will come to that again. But overall, good experience. Don't be afraid to ask questions and he will listen and respond accordingly. Your good health is a priority.
I've seen Dr Prakash for years and don't have a complaint yet. He takes time to look at my blood results and determine the right treatments based on my needs. The office staff are not too bad either and are helpful when needed. I Show morewould say the only thing I don't like is the waiting time to see doctor or to try to honor the arrival time more generously as possible, and for the office staff to return phone calls. But this does not always be the case and most of the time do well. But overall, great experience and the facility is clean and open as well.
Dr. Rahul Prakash is the founder and President of Renal Clinic of Houston (RCH) since its inception in 1999. He is currently practicing out of Memorial, Spring Branch, Katy and Cypress, Texas. He has been in practice since 1994 after he finished his fellowship training in Nephrology from the Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, TX.
He is a graduate of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi India, after which he did his residency training in Internal Medicine from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) affiliated Hospitals in Canton, OH.
He has served as a Chief of Staff at MH- Katy Rehabilitation Hospital, and Chief of the Department of Medicine in MH-Katy Medical Center. He is currently the Medical Director of Davita Pin Oak and Davita Horizon Dialysis Centers. He has been the recipient of the 5 star Physician Awards from the USFHP.
He has participated in the Bridge of Life (part of Davita Village Trust) mission to India, which helped in establishing three non-for-profit dialysis clinics in the Western Province of India. He helped in training of foreign physicians to run the dialysis clinics in their native countries and also in the teaching of foreign medical students.
He is a member of American Society of Nephrology (ASN), Renal Physician Association (RPA), Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), Texas Medical Association (TMA), and The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI). He has authored research papers in some reputed Medical Journals, including American Journal of Kidney Disease (AJKD) and American Journal of Hypertension (AJH).
Dr.Prakash is board certified by American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) as a Diplomate in Nephrology.
