About Salam Salman Maki, MD, FCCP

Salam Salman Maki, MD, FCCP, is a highly skilled and board-certified pulmonologist and critical care specialist practicing at Southwest Pulmonary Associates in Dallas, Texas. With a deep commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Maki is known for his compassionate approach and medical expertise in managing complex respiratory, critical care, and sleep-related conditions.

Dr. Maki earned his medical degree from King Faisal University Medical College in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of South Dakota in Sioux Falls before pursuing advanced fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and Critical Care Medicine at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is uniquely certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurocritical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Maki has been recognized for his dedication to medical education, receiving the Educational Teaching Award from the Internal Medicine program at Creighton University from 2018 to 2022. His clinical practice focuses on delivering comprehensive care for patients with chronic lung diseases, critical illnesses, sleep disorders, and neurological complications.

Beyond his medical career, Dr. Maki enjoys a balanced life with his wife and three children. He is passionate about chess, table tennis, swimming, and soccer—activities that reflect his strategic thinking and commitment to staying active.
