My name is Irene and I went back to Dr. J to ask some more specific questions about a potential cataract operation that I will be having due to reduced vision. I did tell him I was also going to another doctor for a second opinioShow moren because of some complications and just wanted a another point of view. He was very cordial knowledgeable and answered my questions and put me at ease. I have an epiretinal membrane, glaucoma and 2 pseudoholes, one in each eye. Doctor today did spend a fair amount of time and I received recent records from the office staff so that I will be up to date with my diagnosis. 1 I would like to thank Marano Eye Care staff and Dr. J and I feel much more comfortable. I will be getting back to them with my decision and in course.
Dr. Jalaj was very professional, kind and understanding. The receptionist at the desk was also very accommodating and got me an appointment the very next day after my call. I had gone there for a second opinion and Dr. Jalaj was Show morevery thorough with my eye examination and listened to what I had to say. I was rather distraught when I first arrived however the staff and Dr. Jalaj made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Jalaj prescribed two different medications than what I had been previously on and I am starting to feel much better. I am so grateful that I found Dr. Jalaj and his professional staff members. Sanjai Jalaj, MD, recently joined Marano Eye Care, having completed a fellowship in corneal disease and refractive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. He diagnoses and treats patients in Denville, Livingston, and Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Jalaj has advanced training in the latest methods for diagnosing and treating corneal and refractive issues including corneal collagen cross-linking for keratoconus and laser vision correction (LASIK/PRK) for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia. He is a specialist in the most advanced corneal transplantation techniques including minimally invasive techniques such as DMEK, DSAEK, DALK, and PKP to provide the highest quality vision while also preserving as much natural healthy cornea as possible. He is also a specialist in femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery utilizing the latest intraocular lens technologies to reduce the need for glasses.
Before his fellowship training, Dr. Jalaj completed his ophthalmology residency at Columbia University, where he served as chief resident. He also received training in minimally invasive glaucoma procedures to preserve vision and reduce the need for expensive eye drops, intravitreal injections to treat diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, and oculoplastic surgery to address droopy eyelids and wrinkles.
Dr. Jalaj has also shown an interest in giving back and advancing the field of ophthalmology. He is published in numerous medical textbooks and journals, has lectured and taught surgical training courses around the country, is an active member of state, local, and national medical organizations, and has volunteered his time and expertise to both local and international communities.

The staff here are so professional and courteous.
My experience with the doctors was excellent. The billing department is another story. I met all my deductibles and they are still trying to charge me when they participate with blue cross and blue shield. I left the billing department a message and no one has contacted me to go over this issue. Note I paid all the surgical center and doctors bills already.

I really liked the doctor! I I was a new patient and the procedures were not explained to me. Some introduced themselves some didn't. The team seemed to be very capable. On a scale of 1- 10 I'd give my entire experience 8.5. They were timely and the front desk was very courteous

My appointment was 2;15 and it took an hour to see the doctor. Once I saw the doctor he helped me but the wait was to long.
Dr. Sanjai Jalaj and technician visit was very good. Scheduling times may need to be adjusted as we waited in full waiting room for an hour.
