The staff were extremely friendly. I had an MRI at an urgent care a few weeks before. My MRI showed bulging disc in my neck, multi-level mild spondylosis, left posterolateral protrusion and mild left foraminal encroachment. Of couShow morerse I’m no doctor so I was hoping he would come in explain what was on my report and give me his advice. When he came in the room, he immediately went to the computer and started typing away and then said what’s going on? He never introduced himself to me. When I said, I’m having neck pain for about eight months now, he looked at my MRI images on the disk that I had brought in and said “ you have a normal neck” I explained it doesn’t feel normal, I have had really bad pain and stiffness for weeks. He said well you have a normal neck and sometimes normal necks can hurt. Ummm, he lost me as a future patient at that point. I also tried to explain that I was having worse pain when I lay down at night to sleep and my hands go numb and he told me “you have carpal tunnel.” He never looked at my MRI report. Never asked me any other questions about what I was feeling. He did ask if I had stress. Who doesn’t! But you don’t have to be a doctor to know stress doesn’t cause bulging disc in your neck. Then he said you don’t need surgery, I wasn’t there to talk about any kind of surgery. I was there to find out options of what I could do to relieve my pain. Surgery never crossed my mind. He said you need physical therapy and you will be fine. He did explain if physical therapy didn’t work that I could come back and see him again and we could talk about maybe doing injections. Which didn’t make any sense to me because he said about 15 times I had a normal neck, so why would I need physical therapy or injections? Total waste of my time. One thing I do agree is yes I probably need to do some physical therapy and see if that helps but his delivery and the way he was so dismissive and kept saying I had a normal neck just really turned me off. I definitely was not impressed. My MRI shows different. MRI’s don’t lie.
Sorry Dr. Strohmeyer, but this last appointment was both disheartening and insulting. You must not have reviewed my chart and my history because most everything you mentioned during our visit was contradictory to all our conversaShow moretions in the past. You specifically told me you would not perform any surgery on me because “I wouldn’t know where to start”. So I go to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL, specifically to its spine surgery unit. After multiple screenings, tests, MRI’s and X-rays, the Clinic’s surgery staff determined that I was a perfect candidate for an operation that could not only significantly improve my quality of life but rid me of my daily pain. Your response to this news was dismissive and your cavalier attitude didn’t help. You told me earlier that no one in this area would deal with my current condition and in that regard you were right. Yes, believe it or not the scope of medical science does excel and thrive beyond Beaufort. And the Mayo Clinic has proved time and time again why it’s a leader in the many fields of science, medicine, and healthcare. I felt strange when you kept saying “back pain isn’t solved by back surgery”. Obviously an entire team of highly skilled doctors, surgeons and supporting staff at The Mayo Clinic think differently. I think I’ll follow their advice.

Dr. Strohmeyer was thorough in his exam and line of questioning to determine the cause of my neck pain. Highly recommend!
Dr. Strohmeyer is an excellent surgeon with great bedside manners. He listens to your comments and concerns. He tried all options on my lower back before I selected surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Strohmeyer.
Jae was very pleasant and helpful. So was the other lady and the doctor was nice.
Excellent doctor. Would recommend him to anyone
Knee feels much better after shot
My experience with BOSS has been a lot and very positive. Whichever physician partner I have seen has explained the nature of the problem and the treatment plan. I have every confidence in them.
Had visit today. Meds prescribed for back pain. Already feeling better. Thanks so much Dr Stromeyer
Always get in at my appointment time have Enough time with the doctor to address my concerns
I saw him for my first time and I’ve never been treated with such detail and care. He was the sixth person that I had seen for a condition and figured it out immediately. I am in great hands and couldn’t be more thankful!
Dr. Strohmeyer was rude qnd conscending. He actually laughed at me when I reported I expérienced pain in my left shoulder and left arm while driving. He made it clear in a rude, conscending voice that he was not operating on my neck and it's not like have cancer. Ummm, I never asked him to operate on my neck. I didn't make the referral and had no expectations of needing an operation and to make the comparison to cancer was so unprofessional. I didn't appreciate the way he downplayed the pain I am genuinely experiencing in my shoulder and arm.
After 5 months of urgent care appointments, er visits, and multiple doctor visits with little to no results i got more information and hope in 20 minutes at BOSS than all the others combined.
This was a very pleasant appointment with ALL positive staff. Great visit !!!
This was my first visit with Dr Strohmeyer. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The employees I encountered were friendly and smiling. I will definitely recommend this practice to others!
Professional and straightforward
Efficient and caring!
It was an amazing experience. I was able to tell him about my “PAIN” and despair and he calmed my fears. I was so relieved to trust him
Excellent. Care. Concern, listening ability, understanding, comforting, honest....
Made me feel that this would be fine.
Here's a Doctor who really listens to you. Personable, straight forward. Asks for your input.
I liked him
