When it was time for my appointment, Dr. Castro's dental assistant led me to the treatment room. Not only was the assistant highly skilled and professional, but they also had an amazing sense of humor. They cracked some jokes, instantly making me feel at ease, and I couldn't help but smile despite my pre-appointment jitters. During the procedure, Dr. Castro's assistant played soothing music that significantly calmed my nerves. The ambiance was so relaxing that I could have easily drifted off to sleep. Dr. Castro herself was incredibly gentle and attentive. She took the time to explain each step of the process, ensuring I was informed and comfortable throughout the procedure. Dr. Castro's skillful hands fixed my filling with impressive precision, and I experienced absolutely no pain or discomfort. I recently became a new patient and I can’t say enough great things about Dr Castro and her staff! She is warm, funny, extremely knowledgeable, and explains everything she’s doing so that her patients not only understand but feelShow more comfortable. She is committed to education and communication which really heightens and enriches the whole experience. Her staff is amazing and attentive. The other big thing for me is the fact that their hours for appts are as early as 7:45am, and to after 5:00pm and open Saturdays! I left my previous dentist because their schedule was so NOT accommodating around my work schedule, with no Saturday appts. I’m very happy here and now my family is in the process of switching over!

Vanessa Castro, DDS, is a licensed dentist at Newbury Dental in Brookfield, Connecticut. Her areas of specialty include general and cosmetic dentistry, as well as dental sleep medicine, and her overriding goal is to provide the best care in a healthy and safe office setting.

A native of Piscataway, New Jersey, Dr. Castro earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She then crossed the country to attend the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for dental school.
While there, she also met her husband, endodontist Sam Ramadan, DMD, a Connecticut native who was practicing in Danbury, Connecticut.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Castro completed a hospital-based general practice residency at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. After falling in love with the area, Dr. Castro decided to make Connecticut her home.
Committed to keeping up with the latest in dental technology, including dental lasers and scanners and digital radiographs, Dr. Castro attends seminars and continuing education opportunities.
Dr. Castro is an active member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, the Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
When she’s not practicing dental medicine, Dr. Castro enjoys spending time with her husband, relaxing with her fur babies, reading, and strength training. An avid baker, Dr. Castro is even known to take requests from patients for her famous gluten-free chocolate chip cookies and pecan sugar cookies.

I truly enjoy my visits with Dr Castro and her entire staff. Very professional but so warm and friendly! They always take their time to explain exactly what they are doing, and use the latest technology available to make each service they provide the best possible! I have recommended NEWBURY to friends and family. They also have very convenient hours/ I can be seen as early as 7:30am, before work!

I needed work done on a back tooth .Fillings don’t last forever apparently. My apprehension was all for naught . Everyone has always been kind in the years I have been going,my fear was all in my head. NOTHING hurt, nothing. Dr Castro’s “chairside” manner has always been nothing but kind and reassuring.

I wanted to give a huge shout out to Lia for the most comfortable experience today. It’s been over 4 years since I’ve seen a dentist and I have been an anxious mess leading up to my appointment. Lia listened to my concerns, was so gentle and professional. I then saw Dr. Castro and she too was a breath of fresh air. My anxiety and fear has really reduced after today’s appointment and I’m looking forward to going back in a few weeks for some fillings. Dr. Castro & her staff are the best! Polite,professional and very caring. You are attended to as if you were the only patient scheduled that day. Treatments are carefully explained and any questions patiently answered. Front desk(Mary) is is particularly helpful in scheduling appointments or accommodating special requests.
