I started my day out at 9:25 am in West Ashley where I saw the Doctor twice before. I went to my appointment and the receptionist informed me that my appointment was in Goose Creek! Why they would schedule me in Goose Creek when IShow more live in WA I have no idea. I drove to Goose Creek and ended up sitting in the doctors room for over an hour and 1/2 and missing another appointment I had. After almost 2 hours of trying to see the doctor I left and asked for my money back. Today was not a good experience. Although previously when I saw Dr Hughes I thought he was very nice. I do not care for the receptionist at WA though. Every time I’ve been there they are not friendly or helpful.
Dr. Hughes, Erin and the office staff were all professional, courteous and took great care of me. Erin took the time to listen to my concerns and briefed Dr Hughes before he came in. Dr. Hughes really listened to me as well and Show moremade me feel very comfortable. He answered all my questions and alleviated my fears with caring honest answers. One of the best doctors I have ever seen. We drove 2 hours from Conway to Mt. Pleasant for the appt and I’d definitely do it again.

Dr. Hughes is very nice and seems like he really cares for his patients well being.
After reluctance to deal with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, I am most grateful to Dr. Hughes’ efforts in getting the needed testing and information to Medicare so that I could be enrolled in the Leqembi treatment while I was still in the early cognitive state. Dr. Hughes talked about my journey with mild dementia and the approval of the application for Lequembi and promised that Tidewater would pursue getting me into process and that I would hear soon. The hope is that I would be in the process before I see him again on 5/23/24.
