Tim Maryanov, MD, is a board certified neurosurgeon at Fort Neuro in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He specializes in pain management and the treatment of degenerative spinal problems of nerve compression in cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, as well as peripheral nerve problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve compression in cubital tunnel, and common peroneal nerve compression.
Dr. Maryanov was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1988, becoming an American citizen in 1995. He grew up in Southern California, completing his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in psychology and neuroscience, and graduating cum laude and with honors in 1999. He then completed medical school at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, graduating in 2004 as a medical doctor (MD).
During medical school, Dr. Maryanov engaged in extensive volunteer work with Spanish-speaking, underprivileged patients on the Mexican-American border and completed a certification in medical Spanish. In addition to English, he is fluent in Spanish and Russian, allowing him to closely engage with patients he sees and evaluates.
Dr. Maryanov completed a general surgical internship and neurosurgical residency from 2004-2011 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill hospitals. He was bestowed with the honor of being board certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons in 2016 after extensive training, culminating in the completion of the written and oral examinations as well as completing the required neurosurgical operative case experience. He moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas in 2015, where he was initially employed by Sparks Neurosurgical Associates before completing additional training in pain management with Adam Sewell, MD, at Arkansas Pain and Wellness from 2016-2017.
After the closure of Arkansas Pain and Wellness, Dr. Maryanov started an independent practice in Fort Smith, where he currently practices interventional and medical pain management and neurosurgery for degenerative spinal and peripheral nerve conditions.
Dr. Maryanov has hospital privileges at Sparks Hospital Van Buren, where he performs pain management and neurosurgical procedures.
