Timothy Schoonover, DO, dFACN, is a board-certified neurologist at the Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), which helps staff offices in Centerville, Beavercreek, Springfield, Eaton, Wilmington, Hillsboro, and Vandalia, Ohio.
Dr. Schoonover joined the DCND in 1996. As a senior partner and the vice president of clinical quality, he oversees many of the practice’s operations. He primarily sees patients out of the Centerville office.
Dr. Schoonover brings more than 20 years of experience to the practice. He went to school at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, earning his Bachelor of Arts in biology and biochemistry and his Master of Arts in biology.
After graduation, Dr. Schoonover enrolled at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, earning his Doctor of Osteopathy. He completed residency training at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Dr. Schoonover has a special interest in treating headaches, and using botulinum toxin for the treatment of chronic migraines and movement disorders. He also helped to develop and implement the stroke program that Kettering Health Network hospitals currently use.
Dr. Schoonover enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with others. He teaches students through the Grandview Medical Center Neurology Residency Program and loves working one-on-one with up-and-coming neurology professionals.
Dr. Schoonover is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Osteopathic Association. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and is a distinguished fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists.
Outside the office, Dr. Schoonover loves hanging out with family. He has a wife and two daughters. He is an avid golfer and an active member of his church. He welcomes anyone suffering from migraines or other neurological issues to Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders today.

I have been blessed and helped so much by Doctor Schoonover! I have been his patient since 2016 when I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s by Dr. Sullivan in Springfield. Because of his treatment people say they can’t even tell I have Parkinson’s. I attribute this to his proper diagnosis and care.
Looked at my tremors, asked questions, did some tests, made some suggestions and we discussed further treatment. Left no stone unturned.
For well over 15 years, Dr. Schoonover has been my neurologist. Dr. Schoonover provides calm, considerate, and competent care. He prepares for your call by reviewing your case before he enters the exam, asks relevant questions, is thorough in his examination, and I have 100% confidence in his diagnosis.
