About Dr. Tuan Nguyen, MD

Tuan N. Nguyen, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric critical care specialist with a strong dedication to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill children. He serves families at the South Counties Pediatric Critical Care Medical Group, with offices in Fountain Valley, West Covina, and Long Beach, California, offering expert support during some of the most challenging moments in a child’s medical journey.

Dr. Nguyen earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine—one of the nation’s leading medical institutions. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in pediatric critical care at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), where he gained extensive experience in managing complex pediatric conditions.

Currently, Dr. Nguyen is an intensivist at Fountain Valley Hospital and Miller Children’s Hospital, where he provides round-the-clock care in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs). His clinical approach emphasizes collaboration, family involvement, and evidence-based treatment tailored to each child's unique needs.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), Dr. Nguyen stays actively engaged in advancing the field of pediatric critical care. He is also fluent in Vietnamese, allowing him to communicate effectively with Vietnamese-speaking families and ensure culturally sensitive care.

At South Counties Pediatric Critical Care Medical Group, Dr. Nguyen is recognized for his expertise, empathy, and commitment to improving outcomes for children requiring intensive medical care.
