Randy Martin, MD, FACP, FCCP, is an infectious disease and wound care specialist practicing at Pulmonary Medicine Associates in Roseville, California. After spending some time as a sewage plant operator in Alaska, he decided to pivot to a career in medicine because of his desire to make a positive difference for people with complex infections and pulmonary problems.
Dr. Martin earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in Manhattan, New York City, before moving to Seattle, Washington, to earn his medical degree at the University of Washington. He completed an internal medicine internship at the University of California, Davis, as well as a residency and fellowships in infectious diseases and pulmonary and critical care.
Throughout his career in medicine, Dr. Martin has held multiple leadership roles, including medical director at Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, California, and chair of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee, also at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. He’s a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as the Subspecialty Board of Pulmonary Medicine.
Multiple professional memberships allow Dr. Martin to offer his patients advanced care using the latest treatments and protocols. He’s an active member of the American Medical Association, the California Medical Association, the American Thoracic Society, the Sierra-Sacramento Valley Medical Society, and the Sacramento/El Dorado County Medical Association. He’s also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians.
At Pulmonary Medicine Associates, Dr. Martin routinely treats complicated wounds and wound infections using the latest and most effective modalities.
Outside of work, Dr. Martin enjoys outdoor activities like photography and hiking. He spends much of his time with his wife, who also works in health care as a physical therapist, and coaches high school wrestling at Foothill High School in Sacramento, California.
