I’ve been a patient at Advanced Eye Center for about 10 years. Dr. Ackerman was my ophthalmologist at first. He and his team were the first to make me feel comfortable with eye exams. Before that I had been going to large companieShow mores and always felt rushed and a lack of communication. Dr. Ackerman and his team are very efficient and they use that to spend more time with patients to make sure they receive the best care. As a patient of theirs, I appreciate that tremendously. Recently, I had an appointment with Dr. Ackerman for eye surgery. He answered all of my questions (most of them without me asking the question). I felt heard and informed with information to make the best decision for my situation. I really appreciate them and cannot recommend them enough. Thank you all for running such a pleasant, efficient, and competent business!
My visit was some like different this time. Some of the tests I always have each trip i come one or two I didn't have this time. My eyes never had but one kind of drops put in that was all. Test I took was check my eyes which doneShow more different way quickly letters each eye. Then went to machine that show dots of light you click the button. Then machine beside of it . Then took to room where doctor check my eyes for pressure when he comes in. Seem to been more different. If that what I was to receive that visit that's ok just different than trip and how they were done. The girl did quick test at first on me. My eyes were never dialated

Dr. Ackerman has lived in Gainesville, Georgia, since 1994 with his wife and three daughters. In his free time, he enjoys bird dogs, bird hunting, fly fishing, and fresh and saltwater fishing.

This practice is absolutely amazing both from a medical and service perspective. The doctors are super knowledgeable and take all of the needed time with each patient to evaluate all of your options. The staff is also very experienced and knowledgeable; each delivering very personal services. I would not go anywhere else nor recommend any other place for you to go.

Dr Ackerman is a very professional, capable and excellent doctor. I have been seeing him for a good number of years my wife sees him as well and because of his attention to detail my wife is still with me today a number of years ago he found a spot in her eye which ended up to be retina cancer which could have gone to her brain fortunately the retina doctor used medication to kill the cancer. Thank you Dr Ackerman
