Today was my first time meeting Dr. Perlman for shoulder pain with limited ROM. As a retired RN, I am keenly aware of the importance of establishing a good rapport with a physician. Dr. Perlman checked all the boxes, in my opiniShow moreon. He reviewed and discussed MRI results in easy to understand language. Provided treatment options, answered all questions and proceeded to administer a painless steroid injection with immediate relief of my symptoms. I look forward to future follow up visits.
I recently visited Kia Sports Medicine and was very impressed with the overall experience. The practice was extremely efficient, I was seen promptly with very little wait time, which is always appreciated. Dr Perlman was through iShow moren his examination and took the time to explain everything clearly. He let me know that a more accurate diagnosis would follow after reviewing X-rays, which I found reassuring and professional. In the meantime, he administered a cortisone shot to help manage my pain.
Zachary Perlman, DO, is a board-certified internal medicine and primary care sports medicine specialist in Little Silver, New Jersey. At Kai Sports Medicine, Dr. Perlman provides care for athletes and the general population and is particularly interested in minimally invasive orthopedic procedures, including ultrasound-guided joint injections. He is fascinated with longevity medicine and sports nutrition and also plans to obtain his certification in obesity medicine.
Dr. Perlman spent his childhood in Toms River, New Jersey, near the shore. He earned his undergraduate degree at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in molecular biology and biochemistry and completed medical school in South Florida at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.
His residency training involved three years in internal medicine and one year in general surgery, as he was always drawn to the procedural aspects of medicine. He furthered his training with a primary care sports medicine fellowship in San Antonio, Texas, where he worked alongside the NBA San Antonio Spurs physicians.
Dr. Perlman has always been active and enjoys participating in sports himself, as he was a swimmer and a collegiate wrestler throughout his childhood and during high school. He now continues to stay active by running, snowboarding, playing golf, playing basketball, and participating in many other sports. His hobbies include yoga, meditation, and spending time with his wife and child.

I recently had a cortisone shot in my left shoulder pain I previously had the same shot with a different doctor 4 years ago and it was painful. I was anticipating a lot of pain but was really pleasantly surprised how gentle and pain free this experience was. There was a short period where I felt pressure but I would not hesitate to go back if needed to Dr. Perlman. Thank you Dr. Perlman

My experience with Dr. P. and his assistant, Spencer, were great. Dr.Perlman administered two shots which greatly relieved my leg and back pain almost immediately. He was warm, kind and professional. Dr. P. and Spenser did not keep my waiting. I was finished in less than 30 minutes and the shots did not hurt.

Great Practice! Office staff is wonderful. Caring, flexible and knowledgable. Dr. Perlman is top notch. Works with patients when we're at our worst, listens to us and does his best to bring rapid relief from our pain. Can't say enough about the entire office.
