Therapy can feel incredibly overwhelming for a variety of reasons – whether it is your first session, or your hundredth.
My goal as a therapist is to make you feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I greatly value the relationship I have with each of my clients, as it sets the foundation for the success of the work we will do together. I tailor my approach uniquely to each of my clients, but woven through all my sessions and interactions is a mix of compassion, encouragement, psychoeducation, and sometimes a little bit of humor (life is hard enough, don’t you think?).
I have a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Manhattan College. Prior to this, I received my Honors Bachelor of Arts with a double major in both Sociology and Criminology from the University of Western Ontario. I specialize in working with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and OCD. I offer therapy in both English and Romanian (my native language).
The struggles you are facing are overwhelming enough – therapy shouldn’t have to be. Let’s work together to improve your quality of life and reach your goals.
I believe in the idea that we, as therapists, can collaborate with clients to help them discover and reveal themselves in a safe, nonjudgmental space. By cultivating self-awareness and compassion, I seek to help clients explore their own experiences, alleviate fear, and move in the direction of their own choosing and calling. I believe that each person has the capacity to improve their mental health, their wellbeing, and by extension the lives of countless others.
I am inspired to support clients with anxiety, depression, body image, disordered eating, identity, life stage transitions, interpersonal relationships, sexuality, parenting, family conflict, attachment, loss, and grief. By not taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I keep the clients and their interests at the center.
Reaching out to a therapist can feel challenging, but I invite you to take the first step toward caring for yourself. I look forward to meeting you where you are and moving forward together.
I treat adult patients who are looking for a psychiatrist that provides comprehensive and attentive care. Too often have I heard the phrase repeated: "no one has ever really listened to me before." I believe that to address someone's problem, we need to know who that person is and what their individual goals are, not just the characteristics of the problem. Let's get you back to feeling like your full self.
Having trained and served at New York Medical College's Manhattan campus, I have extensive experience diagnosing and managing a range of conditions from depression and anxiety, to PTSD and OCD. I have special skill and experience at handling severe and refractory cases, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
My office is located in Millburn, NJ, and I am licensed to see patients in NJ and NY.
