Dr. Amin, an Oklahoma native, pursued his undergraduate years at University of Texas in Austin. He then completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Florida.

I have achieved every degree in nursing : Certified Nursing Assistant, License Practical Nurse, Associate Degree Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing , Masters of Science Nursing and the Doctorate of Nursing Practice. I am Board Certified in Psychiatry as well as Family Practice. I have worked in psychiatry since 1992 in long term, acute, outpatient, inpatient and rehab. I have testified in many court proceeding as a expert witness in psychiatry. As a Professor at the University of Memphis, I taught clinical psychiatry to undergraduate nursing students. In addition to this, I took part in an innovative and unique Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Residency program. This program was developed by Duke University School of Nursing and the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This additional training and experience, further expanded my scope of practice of being a specialist in Veteran's diverse mental healthcare needs.
