I am dual board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. I see clients from age 12 and up. People come to treatment for all sorts of reasons — anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulty functioning at work or school, family conflict, challenges in relationships, low self-esteem, or simply a desire to learn more about themselves. As a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with expertise in both medication management and psychotherapy, I can help patients develop a treatment plan that meets their needs. My style is guided by warmth and flexibility, with the goals of helping patients build insight and reduce symptoms.
I create individualized treatment plans, assessing patients' goals, unique life experiences, and biological risk factors. While medication is useful in some cases, I am dedicated to helping my patients achieve lasting change through therapy as well.

She has a background in primary, acute, long-term inpatient, and outpatient psychiatric care. Alfonso is also a bilingual service-oriented healthcare provider with many years of experience dedicated to providing compassionate and competent psychiatric services. Alfonso aims to help individuals and families with various psychiatric disorders and mental health needs to recover and reach their emotional well-being and improve the quality of their lives.
During psychiatry residency at Wake Forest University I had to write a personal statement to apply for a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. It had to be good and truthful. Thinking about my experience with children in Argentina where I went to medical school while working for a church as a tutor for poor children. In USA as I re-validated the Medical Doctor degree working as a Physician Assistant for two pediatricians, and having four children of my own, concluded "I probably didn't give them much but I gave them my best to help them through parts of this journey called life", and "I received a lot in return that made me today almost as resilient as they were". Fast forward, looking back into more recent years and working mostly with adult patients now, I feel the same. My patients are not clients with better or worse insurance, but people like me, going through this journey called life where my mission is to help them go through forks, bumps, and traps as I do with God's help
A deeply committed and adaptable Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, board-certified and grounded in patient-centered care, I bring a humble dedication to serving others. As a clinical preceptor and an International Medical Graduate physician, I am privileged to share my knowledge while continuing to learn from every patient and colleague. I take pride in delivering compassionate psychiatric care across the lifespan—from children and adolescents to adults and the elderly—addressing intricate needs such as substance use disorders, forensic psychiatry, and community-based mental health challenges. With a rich background spanning primary, acute, and long-term inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, I strive to provide empathetic, bilingual support that empowers individuals and families. I aim to foster resilience and emotional well-being, leveraging my experience to guide those I serve through life’s complexities with care and understanding.
