Dr Upadhyay is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr Upadhyay enjoys working with both adults and children. She realizes the importance of focusing on her patient as a whole. Having had the experience of working both as an inpatient and outpatient psychiatrist, she likes to use a treatment team approach. While implementing this approach, she likes to collaborate with primary care physicians, psychotherapists, and schools and tends to be very comprehensive.
Dr. Upadhyay utilizes a biopsychosocial framework during the assessment and treatment of her patients. Being a parent of two children, she understands the process a family may go through when they bring their child to see a child psychiatrist.
“My daughter had a few different doctors before who didn't really take the time to listen to her concerns and really address them. Dr Upadhyay took the time with her to really address everything going on. TMS has been extremely helpful for her. Her mood seems lighter, and she has more motivation to get things done. I have seen a big change in her since going through the TMS treatments and would highly recommend it to anyone suffering with depression.”
