Dr. Jessica Sonnier DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC grew up in New Orleans, LA where she attended Charity School of Nursing and Louisiana State University for her undergraduate degrees in registered nursing. She began working as a registered nursing in the psychiatric field for over 8 years.
Dr. Sonnier later attended University of South Alabama for her Master of Science in Nursing and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health NP. While attending University of South Alabama, she trained in many areas of mental health including inpatient and outpatient settings.
I am a graduate of Tulane Medical School where I completed a psychiatric residency and a Child and Adolescent Fellowship. Several years of teaching children have inspired me to focus on children’s mental health. I am a native of New Orleans.

As a dual board-certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner, with training and experience treating patients with psychiatric and medical disorders across the lifespan with acute and chronic disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings. Her education includes a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Post Master of Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Southeast Louisiana University. She brings a passion for providing holistic wellness through evidence-based integrative care, believing the focus should be individualized, patient-centered, and personalized to the client's needs through actively involving the patient in the treatment plan.
As your nurse practitioner she will listen to your story, provide a relaxing, trusting, and professional relationship that is personal and fulfilling.
Through active listening and thoughtful questioning, I am to deliver personal and high-quality clinical care that utilizes most recent advancements in medicine. I have completed residency training in Neurology and Psychiatry from Tulane University. I have special interest in medical management of chronic spine problems and other chronic pain conditions.
Outpatient Drug and alcohol addiction treatment and suboxone maintenance is available option.
