Thomas Dixon, M.D., Ph.D. is a psychiatrist graduated from the UCSD Psychiatry Residency, Research Track. He has an interest in neuromodulation and has been involved in TMS clinical trials as well as basic research in ketamine effects on neurons. He completed the Tufts Medical Scientist Training Program where he received his medical doctorate as well as a Ph.D. in Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology. His Ph.D. involved recreating the human neuromuscular junction with multiple cell types in 3D bio-fabricated structures in the lab. Beyond science and medicine, he is passionate about the outdoors, cinema, Boston sports teams, and environmental policy.
Dr. Amal Obaid-Schmid was born in Kurdistan and came to the U.S. as a refugee at age four, shaping her resilience and commitment to service. She was the first in her family to graduate from UCLA, earning an M.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, then completed her M.D. at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, with advanced studies in Germany and at Brown University. She pursued trauma surgery and became a triple board-certified trauma surgeon and longevity medicine expert with 25+ years of experience in trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and general surgery. A leader in hormone optimization, metabolic health, and regenerative medicine, she has directed programs, developed clinical protocols, and mentored clinicians. Today, she serves as Medical Director of BioHack Wellness Medical Clinic, partnering with founder Annabell Catania to bring evidence-based longevity and regenerative care to the community.
