Marlaine Registe is a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health, and Family Nurse Practitioner based in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. She earned her degree at Florida State University, where she specialized in Family/Internal Medicine. With a sub-specialty in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry, from Shenandoah University. She has several years of experience in community health, outpatient clinics, and inpatient hospitals. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I dedicate myself to assisting my patients and their families on their mental health journey. I specialize in the evaluation and management of various conditions, including ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, Substance Use Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Sleep Disorders, Disruptive behavior, and Impulse control. My care philosophy centers around a partnership between the provider and the patient, working as a cohesive team to achieve a shared goal. I believe in holistic care that goes beyond the neurobiological aspects of mental health and consider cultural, environmental, and psychosocial factors when crafting practical and achievable treatment plans acceptable to the patient.

Ms. Antwi has over 7 years’ experience in nursing that include medical surgical, correctional and psychiatric/mental health nursing. Her psychiatric experience includes providing services in psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient populations and with incarcerated individuals. This work has helped her to develop her perspective on the challenges individual face, and how she can best engage patients/ clients in wellness care. Ms. Antwi attended the University of Rhode Island where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later attended Walden University for her Master of Science in Nursing and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her goal is to encourage each patient to take care of their mental health by discussing it in a way that eliminates the stigma attached to seeking help. Her mission is to provide quality care in a collaborative, supportive, and judgment-free environment.

I'm here to help you bounce back through treatments supported by scientific evidence, which may include medication, therapy, or both. Unlike many psychiatrists, I also offer psychotherapy. I collaborate with patients to integrate their life story, strengths, and values to support them in their unique journey toward personal growth and healing. While adults of all ages and backgrounds are welcome, I specialize in supporting multicultural and BIPOC clients, as well as pregnant and postpartum clients. I have psychopharmacological expertise in managing mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. I offer psychiatric evaluation, medication management on its own or in combination with therapy, and therapy on its own. I have a particular interest in treating mood disorders, including treatment-resistant depression, depression with psychotic features, bipolar disorder, and depression in the elderly. At McLean Neuropsychiatric Treatment Center, I offer neuromodulation treatments, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), esketamine (Spravato), and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), for treatment of depression and other psychiatric conditions. I completed my medical school and psychiatry residency at the University of Michigan, followed by a geriatric psychiatry fellowship at UCLA. I was previously the director of neuromodulation at the Philadelphia VA and an inpatient psychiatrist at the Palo Alto VA, as well as a clinical assistant professor at Stanford University.
