He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas – Wichita and furthered his training with a fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the Taos Orthopedic Institute in New Mexico, where he collaborated with the medical staff of the United States Ski and Snowboard Team, enriching his sports medicine proficiency.
Prior to his tenure in Nevada, Dr. Baker practiced in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he specialized in treating knee, shoulder, and sports injuries while serving as a team physician for various sports teams across all levels. His academic contributions included roles as a clinical professor and a pivotal figure in developing a respected health system sports medicine program. Dr. Baker's career path also took him to Arizona, where he further specialized in a small, focused practice before bringing his wealth of experience to Nevada with a continued focus on treating patients with shoulder and knee problems.
His commitment to quality care is evident in his executive roles; he serves as the Vice Chief-of-Staff on the Medical Executive Committee and as Chairman of the Physician Performance Improvement Committee at Henderson Hospital since its inception. Additionally, he is Chairman of the Governing Board at Parkway Surgery Center, demonstrating his dedication to enhancing healthcare delivery and physician performance.
