Mehran Movassaghi, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship trained urologist treating patients in Santa Monica California. He has vast experience with endourology and men’s health. He provides a variety of treatments for conditions including prostate enlargement and cancer, low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, testicular cancer, kidney stones, and infertility including vasectomies. Before joining St. John’s Physician Partners, Dr. Movassaghi began the first of its kind comprehensive men’s health program in the Los Angeles area.
Dr. Movassaghi earned his medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, Geffen School of Medicine. He then served his internship at Stanford University Hospital & Clinics and his residencies at Stanford University Hospital & Clinic and USC (University of Southern California). He later completed a prestigious fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Movassaghi is a member of the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society and sits on the board of the American Society for Men’s Health.
Throughout his tenure, he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the areas of endourology, quality of life and integrative medicine. He is the founder of the Los Angeles Prostate Cancer 5K and an avid advocate of prevention for both urologic and other forms of chronic illness.

Lori Ann Herga, MD has been treating patients for urological conditions since 2002. She has an award-winning reputation. In her first position at Sharp Rees-Stealy she received Guardian Angel awards. These are donations given by patients to causes within her medical; group on behalf of the physician. Dr. Hergan received 52 Guardian Angel Awards. Dr. Hergan has always received the highest patient satisfaction scores of all 8 urologists in the group while at Sharp. Dr. Hergan enjoys the interaction with the patient and helping relieve their symptoms the most. Dr. Hergan treats all male and female urological problems including incontinence, enlarged prostate, kidney stones and erectile dysfunction. She offers non-surgical and surgical interventions for these problems and more.
Dr. Hergan received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY in 2002. In 2008 she graduated from The University of California San Diego. She has published articles in the following journals: Journal of Urology and Urology. On article was regarding kidney stones and giving an oral medication to help pass the stones. The other was regarding an injection to help relieve the pain associated with prostate biopsies. These methods have since been used by urologists around the world.
Dr. Hergan grew up in upstate New York. She moved to the southern California in 2002 to do her residency and decided to stay. She moved to Hemet in September 2023. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She is an avid skier she loves going to Mammoth. She is looking forward to treating your urological conditions.
Girdhari Purohit, MD, FACS, is a board-certified urologist by the American Board of Urology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the founder of Hemet Valley Urology Medical Center in Hemet, California, and has devoted his life to helping individuals with all aspects of urology and urological conditions. He has a stellar reputation in his industry and practices with sincere compassion and care for all his patients. Dr. Purohit specializes in all male and female urological conditions, including laser treatment for enlarged prostate, benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH), extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL), and lithotripsy for kidney stones.
Dr. Purohit grew up in India, where he earned his pre-medical degree at Dungar and Sardar Patel Medical College in Bikaner, India. After completing medical school, he attended a two-year general surgery residency in India. During that residency, Dr. Purohit learned about urology and the treatment of urological conditions. He performed hundreds of surgeries that honed his now-expert surgical skills.
Upon completion of his initial residency, he attended an additional four-year urology residency program at the New York Infirmary Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. It was during this second residency that Dr. Purohit decided to continue his full-time practice in urology. Throughout his career, he has proctored many physicians in surgical procedures for radical prostatectomy and radical or partial nephrectomy.
Once he completed his medical training, he settled with his family in Hemet, California, where he has been in private practice since 1982. Dr. Purohit has been an active member of the community and at the Hemet and Menifee Valley Medical Centers. In recent years, he has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and also has served as Chief of Medical Staff at Menifee Valley Medical Center. Since 2008, Dr. Purohit has been the Chief of Medical Staff at Hemet Valley Medical Center.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and cherishes his time vacationing with his two grandsons.
