Chris Metro, ND, MSOM, LAc, is a naturopathic physician bringing his interest in natural, nutritional, and herbal medicine to the Portland Clinic of Holistic Health. Serving patients of all ages in Downtown Portland, Oregon, Dr. Metro has a focused interest in addiction treatment and infectious diseases.
Dr. Metro earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and gained specialized knowledge in silicate, chlor-alkali, and petroleum-based derivatives while working for Occidental Chemical Corporation in Dallas, Texas. During his career at Occidental Chemical Corporation, he also pursued his interest in natural medicine by completing initial course work at the New England School of Homeopathy in Amherst, Massachusetts.
He then engaged in further study at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, where he completed his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. Dr. Egesi is the owner of Humble Dermatology and was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston with a BSc. in Biology and was inducted into the Golden Key Honor Society. She earned a chance at the internationally recognized Baylor College of Medicine for her medical education where she also graduated top of her class. She completed her internship and residency in dermatology at the University of Cincinnati and served as chief resident and became a board-certified dermatologist. Living in Ohio afforded her the pleasure of the breathtaking beauty of the four seasons in their climate and how to survive the winter among other things. She moved back home after her residency to Humble, Texas to become the first dermatologist to practice in the area. Dr. Egesi also received her MBA from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She is an expert in all aspects of dermatology including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with special interest and highly skilled in the treatment alopecia (hair loss) and complex dermatological cases. Dr. Kate Leavens is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist. She earned a doctorate in naturopathic medicine and a masters in acupuncture with a Chinese herbal medicine specialization from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. She is a second year resident working with Dr. Ilana Guervich.
While Dr. Leavens’ training has focused on primary care, she has also completed more extensive training in gastroenterology, endocrinology, and women’s health. She is certified in pelvic floor therapy as well as somatic dialogue and has continued training in craniosacral therapy from UpLedger Institute. By integrating naturopathic philosophy, conventional medical tools, and Chinese medicine modalities, she is excited to offer a holistic and individualized approach to each and every patient. David Chang, ND, LAc, is a board-certified naturopathic physician and acupuncturist at Open Wellness PDX in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Chang has extensive experience providing primary care, chronic pain management, and traditional Chinese medicine services.
Dr. Chang was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and he spent part of his childhood there before relocating to beautiful Ashland, Oregon, and then to Portland. He completed his medical education at the National University of Natural Medicine, and then went on to pursue clinical training under the guidance of fellow physician, Dr. Ilana Gurevich.
In addition to his six-year training in natural medicine, Dr. Chang has specialized training in therapies like prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), cold laser therapy, restorative cell therapy, and perineural injections.
