Dr. Singh was born in Ambala, India, and grew up in Delhi, India. While teaching business organization, law, and statistics at Delhi University, Dr. Singh’s father suffered two heart attacks and went through a coronary angiogram. Dr. Singh accompanied his father to the United States to receive an open-heart surgery at Texas Medical Center, becoming intimately involved in his care as he did not speak any English. Fascinated by the field of medicine and cardiology, Dr. Singh switched career paths to pursue his medical degree.
Dr. Singh completed his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Maryland and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia. He furthered his training in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, where he worked as a hospitalist for a year and continued his research in cardiology. Dr. Singh then began focusing on acute care and worked in emergency medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Following his acute and internal medicine training, he decided to pursue his passion in cardiology at Hartford Hospital, affiliated with the University of Connecticut, where he trained in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
After his training, Dr. Singh worked for a few years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before making Plano, Texas, his home in 2010. He previously served as Chief of Cardiology at Medical City Plano from 2019-2020. In his spare time, Dr. Singh also volunteers at the local medical camps all over the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Dr. Singh currently resides and works in Plano with his wife, Navneet, a physician assistant at Heart and Vascular Care. When he’s not working, Dr. Singh enjoys reading, traveling, yoga, jogging, and spending time with his family.

Shahnaz Begum, MD, FACC, is a Board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist. She is an experienced physician who has been practicing cardiology for over 15 years.
Dr. Begum received her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical College in New York. She subsequently completed 3 years of training in Internal Medicine followed by another 3 years of specialized training in Cardiovascular disease/cardiology. She then worked at SUNY Downstate as a faculty physician and Assistant Professor of Cardiology until she moved to Dallas. After that she worked at Texas Health Resource and Plano Presbyterian Hospital for several years as an attending Cardiologist. Dr. Vikas Jindal brings his expertise in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease to the team at HeartPlace Baylor Heart & Vascular Hospital. Viral Lathia, MD, is an interventional cardiologist at Complete Cardiac & Vascular Care in Mansfield, Texas. Dr. Lathia holds board certifications in nuclear cardiology, vascular interpretation, and interventional cardiology.
After completing his medical education at D Y Patil University School of Medicine in Navi Mumbai, India, Dr. Lathia relocated to the United States for a research experience at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. During this experience, Dr. Lathia worked with a team of mathematicians, chemists, chemical engineers, and critical care medicine attendings who were trying to make a control formula for a filtration device that removes harmful inflammatory markers during sepsis.
He then continued his medical training, completing his internal medicine residency at Louisiana State University in Lafayette, Louisiana. He went on to do his fellowship training in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.
Throughout his fellowship training, Dr. Lathia continued to participate in research studies and has published or presented many of these studies to his peers.

He was a team leader during the devastating earthquake in Gujarat, India, in 2003 and volunteered at the Heymann Shelter Home in Lafayette during Hurricane Gustav in 2008.
