Dr. Zia Khan was born in India but at a young age the family immigrated to Africa. He spent his childhood in Africa and then migrated to the US. Dr. Ismail brings more than 30 years of experience and expertise to the practice and has worked as a cardiology and internal medicine specialist in a variety of settings.
Hailing from Pakistan, Dr. Ismail completed his undergraduate studies at Graduate Forman Christian College in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1982. He later attended King Edward Medical College in Lahore, graduating with his medical doctorate in 1988. He completed his first internship in internal medicine and general and pediatric surgery at Mayo Hospital in Lahore in 1989.
After moving to the Bronx in New York City, Dr. Ismail completed his internal medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in 1995, where he became chief resident. Four years later, he relocated to Orange, California, and completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of California Irvine.
