Stephanie Higashi, DC, is a top-rated chiropractor with nearly 20 years of professional experience. Along with her husband, Wayne Higashi, DC, ATC, Dr. Higashi launched Health Atlast to help integrate medical, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, nutrition, and exercise into each patient’s individualized care plan. Working out of the Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, California, offices, she strives to deliver all-inclusive care that uncovers and treats the root of a patient’s problem, not just the symptoms.
Dr. Higashi received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, where she studied biochemistry. She then graduated summa cum laude with a chiropractic doctoral degree from the Southern California University of Health Sciences Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in Whittier, California.
As a student, Dr. Higashi was disappointed by the model of health care practiced in the United States, which focuses on medication prescriptions and invasive surgical procedures to treat pain. That’s why she and her husband began exploring alternative pain treatments and therapies, including acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, diet and exercise changes, and more.
Dr. Higashi, D.C. treats her patients like family and expects the rest of the Health Atlast team to do the same. She’s passionate about helping others lead healthy, fulfilling lives that are free of chronic pain, which is why the Health Atlast team is encouraged to collaborate and treat each patient’s pain in a cohesive way. This comprehensive care model, which includes holistic treatment options, often eliminates a patient’s needs for unnecessary medications and surgery and allows them to be more hands-on in their pain management plan.
It’s Dr. Higashi’s top priority to empower her patients by providing the perfect care plan to optimize their unique goals, health and needs.
Dr. Wayne Higashi, DC, ATC, is a certified athletic trainer and chiropractor in the Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, California, offices of Health Atlast, a multidisciplinary health care franchise that he launched with his wife, Stephanie Higashi, DC, in 2012. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Dr. Higashi enrolled in the Southern California University of Health Sciences’ chiropractic medicine doctoral program in Whittier, California, which he completed in 2000. Since then, Dr. Higashi has made it his top priority to build a practice that caters to every patient’s unique needs. This means listening to his patients’ concerns with open ears, analyzing their medical history, and performing thorough exams to get to the root of the problem.
Above all else, Dr. Higashi believes patients should be treated to personalized care at Health Atlast. Offering comprehensive care allows Dr. Higashi to help his patients better understand their bodies and the treatments that can improve their quality of life. It’s Dr. Higashi’s mission to use the most advanced nonsurgical pain treatments available, including physical therapy, nutritional counseling, massage therapy, and more.
