In 1988, Dr. Scherrer graduated from Rutgers School of Biomedical and Health Sciences in Newark, New Jersey, formerly known as the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

He opened his first dental office in North Bergen, practicing there for 16 years, before transferring to the current location in Ridgewood in 2005. Dr. Scherrer is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the New Jersey Dental Association.
