Miriam S. Bettencourt, MD, is a board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Nevada, and an adjunct professor at Touro University. She practices medical and cosmetic dermatology and Mohs surgery at Thomas Dermatology’s Henderson, Nevada office location. 

She started her medical career in Brazil and completed a residency in internal medicine and dermatology at the University of São Paulo, followed by a residency in family medicine and dermatology at Duke University, where she was selected as Chief Resident. Subsequently, she joined the University of South Florida as an assistant clinical professor and Associate Residency Program Director, Head of the Clinical Trials Division, and Chief of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.

She attended undergraduate at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado, where she graduated with a degree in biology and was captain of the swim team. Douglas Thomas, MD, FAAD, is the founder and Medical Director at Thomas Dermatology, with offices in Bullhead City, Kingman, and Lake Havasu City, Arizona, as well as two locations in Las Vegas and one in Henderson, Nevada. He boasts many years of experience treating people of all ages. His areas of expertise include pediatric and surgical dermatology, including skin cancer treatment. 

Dr. Thomas grew up in Las Vegas and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in Summerlin, Nevada. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology with honors from the University of San Diego in California. 

He graduated with honors from medical school at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles (UCLA), where he also completed an internship in pediatrics and a residency in dermatology. Dr. Thomas was selected Chief Resident and appointed Assistant Clinical Professor.

He is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at UNLV School of Medicine.

He is a native of Seal Beach, California, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. Dr. Lieberman received his medical degree from  the Keck School of Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, where he graduated with “highest distinction.” Dr. Lieberman was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in his third year of medical school, a distinction reserved for the top 5% of his medical school class. 

He completed his internship in internal medicine at the UCLA/West Los Angeles VA Medical Center in Los Angeles followed by his dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he was selected Chief Resident. Dr. Lieberman pursued additional training in Mohs micrographic surgery under the mentorship of local and nationally recognized experts. He joined Thomas Dermatology in 2009.

Robert Leposavic, MD, is a board-certified general dermatologist specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery. He is a board-certified Mohs surgeon with certification in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. He currently sees patients at LUX Dermatology, located in Sparks, Nevada, and with offices across California in Stockton, Manteca, Santa Barbara, Porterville, Hanford, and Visalia. 

Dr. Leposavic earned his Bachelor of Science in chemistry, graduating summa cum laude from the University of California at Berkeley. He then attended the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where he obtained his medical degree. He then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, and a dermatology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Before becoming a dermatologist, Dr. Leposavic was a Chemical Engineer at IBM in San Jose, California, for four years, where he developed thin-film magnetic heads and received four Outstanding Achievement awards. 

He began practicing dermatology in 2000 in Topeka, Kansas, and has since been practicing in California and Nevada. Dr. Leposavic practiced dermatology for sixteen years at the Sansum Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic in Santa Barbara, California. In 2005, he became a partner of Desert Dermatology in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

In addition to practicing dermatology, Dr. Leposavic has given presentations and multiple lectures on a variety of topics, such as mast cells and Basophil, the molecular mechanisms of cell signaling and dermatology. He was also a Principal Investigator for the Enbrel EASE Study from 2004 to 2005.
