Reception desk staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Lilia was especially helpful. X-ray tech seemed easily frustrated when I could not easily maneuver my fingers, as he instructed. He probably forgets that folks are there Show morebecause they are experiencing problems with their hands. Seems to lack respect, when speaking to older people. Dr. Weinheimer was courteous, thorough and took time to explain the problem, the recommended solution and answered questions in non-medical terms. Checkout and scheduling lady was courteous, informative and respectful. All in all, it was a pleasant office experience. I’ll have to wait to see results if surgery, before commenting on that.
I did not have to wait long. Had an X-ray and the results were to the doctor and the the doctor was in in less than 10 mins. He had two students today and thay were very nice and listened to my concerns. When the doctor came in heShow more sat down and did not act like he was in a hurry. I knew he was in there for me and what was going on with my knee. He was very informative and made a plan that would be good for me. I am extremely please.

Kent Weinheimer, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon offering expert care for patients at Texas Orthopedic and Hand Specialist in Amarillo, Texas. Dr. Weinheimer grew up in Fredericksburg, Texas, in a cattle-ranching family. He received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University in 2007 and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern in 2013. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Pennsylvania State University and his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
With a background in engineering and specialized training in hand and upper extremity surgery, Dr. Weinheimer is uniquely qualified to treat an array of orthopedic conditions. In addition to general orthopedic care, he routinely diagnoses and treats patients affected by conditions like arthritis, carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, and rotator cuff tears, among others.
He lives in Amarillo with his wife, Dr. Rachel Weinheimer, an Amarillo native and a colon and rectal surgeon with Texas Oncology. They have three young children, Grace, Jack, and Claire, and are glad to be raising their family in Amarillo.
