Ruchir Thakkar, DO, is a board-certified family medicine specialist providing urgent care services to men, women, and children in Cicero, Roseland Illinois and the greater Chicago area. Dr. Thakkar is passionate about learning and began his studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology. He went on to study medicine at Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He then returned to Illinois to refine his skills through a residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Urgent care is Dr. Thakkar’s preferred area of practice. Since completing his training he’s worked in several urgent care settings in Illinois, expanding his understanding of immediate care in each of those positions. He finds urgent care to be a dynamic, engaging, and rewarding field and enjoys the challenges of assisting patients in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
