Sonia Kirkpatrick, MBA, is the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of PediaPlex, the leading diagnostic and therapeutic center in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, area. With offices in Southlake, Fort Worth, and Frisco, Texas, the team at PediaPlex evaluates, diagnoses, and treats children with developmental disabilities.
Sonia was inspired by her daughter to create PediaPlex after she was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and ADHD coupled with dyspraxia. It took years of multiple evaluations, consultations, and referrals across the country before her daughter was finally diagnosed.
From this highly personal journey, Sonia developed a vision for a clinic where a child could be evaluated and treated by a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a single, collaborative location. Thus, the concept for PediaPlex was born.
Sonia spent years researching the types of specialists necessary to help diagnose and treat children with these challenges. In doing so, she finely tuned her business plan for PediaPlex while completing her master’s in business administration (MBA) at the University of Dallas. She also became deeply entrenched in the pediatric behavioral health community in North Texas.
Sonia recruited and assembled a first-class team of professionals and proudly opened PediaPlex on January 2, 2012, in Southlake, Texas.
Prior to PediaPlex, she spent over 20 years in accounting and finance positions at companies such as Nokia, CSF, Automation Resources, and The North American Coal Corporation. Her most recent role as director of global operational excellence, strategy, and projects at Nokia provided valuable experience in understanding the importance of financial rigor applied to any business, including medical offices.
Sonia currently serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Dallas and has been the alumni speaker at several of the university’s commencement ceremonies for graduate programs.

Saba Shabnam, MD, FAAFP,is a board-certified family medicine physician in Grapevine, Texas, proudly serving the communities in the Dallas Fort Worth area for more than 15 years. Dr. Shabnam graduated with honors from the Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1996. She moved to the United States and completed her family medicine training at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College. Through this residency, Dr. Shabnam served as chief resident.
Post-residency, Dr. Shabnam moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and has been working in private practice since 2005. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2018. Lori and her husband Blaine got married in 1998 and moved to Brock, TX to raise their family. They have the pleasure of raising four amazing children Ethan, Aidan, Adam, and Ella, plus their two dogs Finley and Lexi. Lori and Blaine enjoy watching their children play baseball, football, volleyball, choir, band, or whatever activity they want to try. Bryan Weddle, DC, is chiropractor who has been helping people heal from musculoskeletal injuries for over 21 years. Dr. Weddle specializes in the active release technique at Liberty HealthCare, with offices in Grapevine, Mesquite, and Plano, Texas.
Dr. Weddle received his doctorate in chiropractic at Parker University in 1995. Kateryna was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. She moved to the United States in 2000 and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, in 2008.
For her postgraduate education, she attended Texas Woman’s University in 2019, completing her master’s degree in nursing. She started her professional career as a surgical registered nurse in Dallas and then developed her areas of expertise in gynecology, bariatrics, and aesthetics. Kateryna is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Her background in family practice allowed her to develop a passion for women’s health care, preventive medicine, medical weight loss, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). She is truly dedicated to making every patient feel comfortable and taking the time to listen to their individual concerns.
In her free time, Kateryna enjoys spending time with her husband and three wonderful children. As a family, they love to travel and explore.
