Dr. Sung attributes much of her knowledge on doctoring from her early career as a community physician in Boston with Massachusetts General Hospital.  There, she was inspired by the devotion and compassion of her colleagues and the richness and diversity of her patients.  She moved back to Connecticut to begin a family and worked as a Hospitalist in 2002.  Greatly interested in the humanism of medicine, Dr. Sung became board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine in 2012 and became the Clinical Leader of Palliative Care at Norwalk Hospital in 2016.  Recognizing the growing complexity of disease and the increasing needs of our aging population, as well as the shortage in meeting these needs in the outpatient setting, Dr. Sung is excited to have founded PalliMD.

Nicola Pemberton, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Artemis OB/GYN in Union, New Jersey. She is the medical director of Artemis OB/GYN and The Birth Center of New Jersey. She specializes in obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology, and benign adult and adolescent gynecology.

Dr. Pemberton completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Miami in Florida before moving to the West Indies for two years to attend the St. George’s University School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada. For her third year of medical school, she did her clinical rotations in England, including a neuroscience selective in the Czech Republic.

She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey, where she was recognized for her resident teaching and given a faculty position at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York City, where she also served as a clinical assistant professor at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. 

Dr. Pemberton is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her training includes general laparoscopic and robotic gynecology surgery for procedures such as myomectomy, hysterectomy, and ovarian pathology. With 15 years of dedicated experience in women’s health, Sherifa has found her passion in guiding patients through the complex journey of fertility care and has been practicing in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility since 2011. She works closely with her patients, providing both initial and follow-up consultations and performing procedures such as saline sonograms, intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), endometrial biopsies, and ultrasounds.

Jessica Benjamin is a board certified Physician Assistant. Jessica completed her B.A. at Rutgers University, double majoring in Biological Sciences and Psychology. She went on to PA school and completed her Masters in Public Health at Lock Haven University. Prior to PA school she was an EMT for 6 years and volunteered her time at her local Fire/Ambulance company.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hanging out with her friends and family. She enjoys watching football and baseball and is a NY Giants and NY Yankees fan.

Dr. Juliet Ovshayev is a board certified physician of osteopathic medicine practicing for thirty-one years.
