Dr. Courtney Scott is our medical director/doctor here at Genesis New Beginning Inc. Dr. Scott has obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a master’s in Business Administration, and of course a degree as a Doctor of Medicine.

Dr. Scott is an award-winning physician & surgeon. He won the AFAM/LMKU Kenneth Award in Scholarly Achievements in Psychology, as well as outstanding performance for his knowledge in internal medicine. He was recognized three (3) years in a row from Keck School of Medicine at USC. He has also been recognized by the African American A-HeFT, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, and the Obesity and Outcome in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for his research performances.

Dr. Scott is a board-certified physician and surgeon in emergency medicine but brings an understanding, and ability to work well in a busy and/or stressful environment to the behavioral health care industry. I have been in practice for 25 years. During that time I have treated thousands of clients with High Blood Pressure, Elevated Cholesterol and Diabetes as well as Depression and Anxiety and Painful Conditions. Not only has she played the role of a nurse, but also as a supervisor which gave her the experience to be a leader. Her role as the Pediatric Liaison Nurse (PDLN) and Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) gave her the opportunity to create treatment protocols for Emergency Room Services for Pediatrics and also maintain guidelines for Pre-hosptial care. With this in mind, she is able to utilize knowledge and experience to help aid the vulnerable population in home by triaging, maintaining complex disease process, and also orchestrating plan of care with home health agencies/hospice, rehab, skilled nursing, and acute care.

Joanna Ayala, MD, is a board-certified physician with over a decade of experience in family medicine. She proudly leads the team at Murrieta Primary Care Clinic in Murrieta, California.

Dr. Ayala earned her medical degree from the University of Guadalajara School of Medicine in Jalisco’s capital city of Guadalajara in Mexico.
