After receiving his medical degree at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, Dr. Epps completed an anesthesiology residency and fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Epps is board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management and has excelled in several roles throughout his career, including serving as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy caring for our servicemen at home and abroad during three combat deployments. As the medical director of Psych Atlanta, with locations in Marietta and Roswell, Georgia, Michael D. Banov, MD, provides comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care for adult patients. Dr. Banov is triple-board certified in adult, adolescent, and addiction psychiatry as well as a certified clinical research investigator.
Dr. Banov completed his Bachelor of Arts in Religion at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine at the Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. “So I called ahead to ask about getting some X-rays, and they told me it was walk-in only. Cool, no problem… except maybe mention that your Johns Creek location doesn’t actually exist right now? That would’ve been super helpful info before I drove there like it was still a thing.
Fast forward to the Suwanee office — I walk in, explain why I’m there, and they tell me someone will be with me “in a bit.” Well, apparently “a bit” is code for let’s see how long someone in pain can sit in a chair without snapping, because I waited over an hour. Just sitting there. In pain. Not ideal when the whole reason for the visit is… you guessed it — PAIN.
Honestly, the communication could use some serious improvement, and maybe staffing too? I get that things get busy, but wow. If you’re going to offer walk-ins, maybe don’t make it feel like a sit-in.”
