Growing up outside the city, she fondly remembers tubing at Lake Lanier, playing volleyball, and spending time with her cousins. Originally, she matriculated at Spelman College to pursue biomedical research, but family tragedies shifted her pursuits to medicine. Dr. Burris graduated from medical school and completed her family medicine residency at Morehouse School of Medicine. During her journey, she has served as chief resident, performed community-based research on the association between anxiety and epilepsy in African American participants, promoted awareness of psychosocial barriers amongst North African and Middle Easterners in medicine, and volunteered at the HEAL Clinic serving the underserved communities.

Dr. Epps is board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management and has excelled in several roles throughout his career, including serving as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy caring for our servicemen at home and abroad during three combat deployments.
