Dr. Hussen Amen is a board-certified family physician and founder of Amen Family Medicine in Livonia, MI. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University and completed residency at Trinity Health Livonia, where he trained in full-scope outpatient care, chronic disease management, and sports medicine. He also holds a degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University. Dr. Amen treats patients of all ages and performs in-office procedures including joint injections, skin biopsies, ultrasound-guided treatments, and laceration repairs. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Marlene continued on to Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan, where she earned her master’s degree in nursing with advanced training for the full scope of nurse practitioner.

She groomed specialized skills in pain management while serving as a pre-operative/recovery nurse in diverse clinical settings, such as surgical intensive care and trauma units. Previously, Marlene worked for the American Surgical Centers and William Beaumont Hospital.

She brings her passion for patient care and her commitment to helping patients maintain their health to her work as a member of the Neuro Pain Consultants medical staff.

I have the privilege of providing medical care in Macomb County since 2000. In those years, I have met many amazing patients and families. As a family medicine physician, I see patients of all ages.
