She earned her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos in Nigeria and completed her fellowship training at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, Scotland.
Dr. Arene previously served as the medical director of the stroke rehabilitation unit at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, where she was also an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
At Wellspring Clinic, Dr. Arene provides compassionate pain management services and takes an integrative, whole-person approach to care. She diagnoses and treats a range of acute and chronic pain issues, including neck, back, nerve and joint pain, with ultrasound-guided injections, pain pumps, and other advanced strategies.

Sultana Afrooz, DO, is a holistic and integrative medicine physician at Be The Change Health & Wellness, located in Columbia, Maryland. Dr. Afrooz has practiced osteopathic medicine since receiving her doctorate from Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2002. Her training included an osteopathic internship and family practice residency at the Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Afrooz was board certified in family practice from 2005 to 2014 and is currently board-eligible.
