Kennedy Gombert was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and went to the University of Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. At the University of Alabama, she was involved in pre-medical societies, club soccer, and her sorority.
After graduating from Alabama in 2020, she moved back to San Antonio and was a medical scribe before attending PA school at West Coast University in Dallas, TX where she earned a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. During PA school, she developed a passion for surgery and is excited begin her career in orthopedics.
Outside of work, she loves to read, spend time with friends, travel, and cheer on Alabama football (roll tide!)
Umar Burney MD, MBA is the founding and managing partner at Orthopaedic Specialists of Dallas. He is dual board-certified in general orthopaedics and sports medicine surgery.
Dr. Burney was born in Madison, Wisconsin. His parents were both in the teaching profession and taught the importance of learning and education. Living abroad during high school, he had the unique opportunity to graduate with a secondary education certification from the University of Cambridge in England.
He returned to the University of Wisconsin in Madison to complete his undergraduate degree in medical microbiology and immunology with a special interest in communicative diseases of the third world.
Dr. Burney attended Saint George's University School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada, and joined the Iota Epsilon Alpha International Medical Honors Society his sophomore year. He then completed his internship and orthopaedic surgical residency at Louisiana State University Shreveport, where he received several awards for excellence in basic science research and anatomy.
After graduating from LSU, Dr. Burney completed a sports medicine and joint replacement fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Leland Winston and Dr. Thomas Clanton at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Burney has served on numerous committees throughout his career. His current roles include Joint Replacement Director and Vice Chair of the Board of Managers at Texas Health Surgery Center of Rockwall. His primary focus is sports medicine and joint replacement.
Dr. Burney is married to Nazlee, an elementary educator, and they share three children. He enjoys philanthropy, family time, traveling, running, and soccer in his spare time.

Dr. Khan is currently a practising Emergency Medicine and Sleep Medicine Physician. He finished his Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, currently being board certified in Sleep Medicine. He finished his residency at LSU Family Medicine program and served as the Chief Resident of Administration 2022-2023. Dr. Khan has a very diverse experience and brings innovative ideas with solutions on the table. Apart from Emergency Medical Care, he also specialises in treating complex sleep disorders in adults and pediatric patients. He has worked in different areas of research, healthcare and advocacy in various parts of the US.
