Umar Burney MD, MBA is the founding and managing partner at Orthopaedic Specialists of Dallas. He is dual board-certified in general orthopaedics and sports medicine surgery.
Dr. Burney was born in Madison, Wisconsin. His parents were both in the teaching profession and taught the importance of learning and education. Living abroad during high school, he had the unique opportunity to graduate with a secondary education certification from the University of Cambridge in England.
He returned to the University of Wisconsin in Madison to complete his undergraduate degree in medical microbiology and immunology with a special interest in communicative diseases of the third world.
Dr. Burney attended Saint George's University School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada, and joined the Iota Epsilon Alpha International Medical Honors Society his sophomore year.
