Dr. Rastegar received her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. She remained at Mount Sinai for her residency and fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases.
After completing her fellowship, Dr. Rastegar became co-director of echocardiography and noninvasive cardiology at Beth Israel Medical Center-North Division in New York City. Then she established her private practice, where she is currently the co-director of Heartwise Cardiology.
Dr. Rastegar is affiliated with two prestigious institutions in NY City - New York University Langone Medical Center and the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Rastegar continues her academic endeavors by teaching medical students and residents at these medical centers.
She stays on the cutting edge of cardiology with her involvement in clinical research studies, including dyslipidemia and coronary artery disease. She is an active speaker and lecturer on these topics.
