Dr. Melissa Sotillo graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1995. In the United States, Dr. Zhang completed his residency at the Interfaith Medical Center, Internal Medicine for Primary Care in Brooklyn, New York, and a fellowship in rheumatology at State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Dr. Zhang also gained valuable experience during his residency, postdoctoral training, and practice in orthopedic surgery and as a research fellow at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, NY.
From 2013-2014, Dr. Zhang was a professor in Orthopedic Surgery at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanfang University in Guangzhou, China. He returned to the U.S. where he practiced medicine as both a wound care and primary care physician in the New York City and New Jersey areas. He is certified by the United States Internal Medicine Board and is a licensed physician in New York and New Jersey, and his research is published in numerous medical journals.
Dr. Zhang brings his extensive experience and concern for improving health care to those in Edison, New Jersey, and the surrounding community.
Sabeen Ahmed, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician providing affiliated internal medicine and primary care services at Cardio Metabolic Institute. With a passion for both acute and preventative medicine, her philosophy is simple: great care comes from great relationships between patients and their physicians. Dr. Ahmed’s goal is to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care to the communities of Edison, Monroe Township and Somerset, New Jersey.
Dr. Ahmed joins Cardio Metabolic Institute after spending years in academic medicine and acute care/hospital medicine. She completed medical school at King Edward Medical College in Pakistan before moving to the United States, where she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Hackensack Meridian Health - Mountainside Medical Center. She served as Chief Resident in her final year.
During her residency, she experienced great satisfaction in establishing long-term relationships with patients. In primary care, it is the small details that matter. Her emphasis has always been to treat the patient as a whole. Her experience as a Teaching attending and in acute care hospitals provides the ideal knowledge base to be your physician.
In her free time, Dr. Ahmed enjoys trying new cuisines, exploring her hometown of Edison, and spending time with her two children.
