Dr. Cory Heal is a radiation oncologist who has expertise in a full breadth of radiation oncology treatments for both malignant and benign diseases in children and adults.
Before joining Arizona Center for Cancer Care, Dr. Heal received a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and his Medical Doctorate from Drexel University. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital and a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Arizona, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Heal specializes in the treatment of malignancies of the breast, prostate, lung, skin, head and neck, gynecological tract, gastrointestinal tract, central nervous system, hematologic/lymphatic systems, and musculoskeletal systems. He also treats a wide array of benign diseases that benefit from radiation. Dr. Heal utilizes the latest treatment techniques in his practice, including Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), PLUVICTO, LUTATHERA, and Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR/SBRT). Dr. Heal has additional specialized training and research interests in the use of HDR brachytherapy for several anatomic sites. His other research interests include patient safety and quality improvement.
An Arizona native who grew up in the East Valley, Dr. Heal feels privileged to serve the community he loves. He always seeks to be an advocate for his patients as he guides them through treatment. He enjoys the lasting relationships he develops with his patients and their families and feels honored to take part in their care.
Dr. Heal and his wife, Emily, have four children. Outside of medicine, Dr. Heal loves spending his free time being a dad, cooking new foods in the kitchen, and making memories with his family outdoors.

She spent over four years caring for the underserved cancer population at Valleywise Health, where she partnered with the breast cancer team honored with The Spirit of Healing Award from the Cancer Support Community of Arizona in 2022. Her commitment extends beyond the clinic through volunteer work, charity educational programs, and quality improvement initiatives for underserved cancer patients. Ashim Aggarwal, MD, FRCP (London), FACC, FSCAI, FASE, is board certified in general cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Aggarwal joined Cardiac Care Consultants in Peoria, Glendale, and Sun City West, Arizona, in 2018.
He specializes in complex coronary interventions, including Impella LVAD support and percutaneous structural heart disease treatment, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for aortic stenosis, MitralClip™ therapy for severe mitral regurgitation, CardioMEMS™ HF System, Watchman™ implantation, and PFO Closures.
Dr. Aggarwal went to medical school at KMC Mangalore (Manipal University) in India. He then finished his residency and obtained the prestigious MRCP (MD equivalent) from the Royal College of London in the United Kingdom. He then relocated to the United States and completed his internal medicine residency at Unity Health System, affiliated with the University of Rochester in New York.
Afterward, he completed an advanced heart failure/cardiac transplant fellowship from Advocate Christ Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Illinois. Dr. Aggarwal did his general cardiology fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, where he was appointed a Chief Cardiology Fellow. He then completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Aggarwal has published extensively and has authored multiple articles/manuscripts in many prestigious peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented abstracts and oral presentations at all major national and international cardiology conferences.
Dr. Aggarwal is an External Examiner for Residency/Fellows training programs in the United Kingdom. He was also nominated in the prestigious Top Doctors 2021.
Charanjit Kapoor, MD, FACC, is board-certified in general, nuclear, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Kapoor has been practicing medicine since 2000 and joined Cardiac Care Consultants in Peoria, Glendale, and Sun City West, Arizona, in 2010. He specializes in coronary artery disease, heart failure, pacemaker implants, and loop implants.
Dr. Kapoor received his medical degree from Government Medical College in Patiala, India. He completed his internship and residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, where he was appointed chief medical resident. Dr. Kapoor received his advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and cardiology fellowship training at the Ochsner Clinic and Medical Foundation in New Orleans.

Jeffrey Pakula, DO, FACC, is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology. He provides a wide range of cardiology services at Cardiac Care Consultants in Peoria, and Sun City West, Arizona. Dr. Hemu is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with extensive training from prestigious medical institutions across the United States. After graduating from Chicago Medical School in 2017 with both a medical degree and a master's in biomedical sciences, Dr. Hemu completed internal medicine residency training at Rush University Hospital in Chicago.
He then pursued further training in cardiology at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where he earned board certification in cardiology and specialized in echocardiography. This comprehensive training provided a strong foundation in non-invasive cardiac diagnostics and medical management of cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Hemu further enhanced his expertise with subspecialty training in interventional and structural cardiology at Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego. The first year focused on complex coronary interventions, including challenging techniques such as chronic total occlusion procedures. During the second year, he mastered advanced structural and peripheral interventions, including the management of critical limb ischemia, culminating in board certification in interventional cardiology. This unique combination of training at leading medical centers has equipped Dr. Hemu with exceptional skills in both diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular care. Vijay Swarup, MD, FACC, FHRS, is one of the physicians at Arizona Heart Rhythm Center, which has locations in Phoenix, Peoria, Gilbert, and Prescott, Arizona. He has been practicing clinical cardiac electrophysiology in Arizona since 2002. Before joining the practice, he completed a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Swarup earned his bachelor's and medical degrees at the University of Delhi in New Delhi. He continued his education at St. Louis University School of Medicine, completing an internal medicine residency and a research fellowship in molecular cardiology. He completed a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He then pursued a clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Swarup has received specialized training in performing complex arrhythmia treatments, including trans-catheter ablations. He has a special interest in three-dimensional electroanatomical mapping techniques, left atrial appendage occlusion techniques, and ablative therapies for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.
In Arizona, Dr. Swarup was among the first to perform epicardial and endocardial 3D mapping guided ablation of ischemic ventricular tachycardias, open irrigated ablations, robotic catheter ablations for arrhythmias, and implantation to left atrial appendage occlusion devices. Dr. Swarup has some of the most extensive experience in AF and VT ablations and implantation of LAA occlusion devices in the country. Dr. Swarup is also an active researcher of new ablation techniques, having authored numerous abstracts and manuscripts. He has been the principal investigator in many research protocols investigating promising new ablation techniques and devices for the treatment of arrhythmias.
Dr. Swarup is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Leon Thompson, DO, is an experienced internal medicine physician at Thompson Medical Group in Peoria, Arizona.
