He was a research fellow for 2 years at Rockefeller University, and then completed his clinical fellowship in Infectious Diseases at UCLA, followed by 4 years of research and publications at UCLA. He was a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh medical Center until 1997. Since 1997, he has practiced Internal Medicine in CT. Dr. Blander is board certified in Internal Medicine, and Infectious Diseases.

Luiza Youssefi, OD, is a highly trained optometrist at Meriden MedSpa in Meriden and Fairfield, Connecticut. Dr. Youssefi has many years of medical experience and enjoys enhancing the appearance of patients aged 12 and older in a welcoming setting.
She received her bachelor’s degree at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and her optometry credential from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. A contact specialist, Dr. Youssefi is skilled in fitting contact lenses in patients with difficult-to-fit prescriptions.
Her other areas of expertise include primary eye care and post-op management for people undergoing cataract removal, corneal transplants, glaucoma management, refractive surgery, and more. Dr. Youssefi is a member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists, the Contact Lens Society, and the American Optometric Association.
