Mani Nezhad, MD, is a board-certified adult and vascular neurologist at Link Neuroscience Institute in Oxnard, California, with a passion for providing state-of-the-art care for his patients.
Dr. Nezhad grew up in the San Fernando Valley and he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California (USC). Following his time at USC, Dr. Nezhad received his master’s degree and medical degree at Georgetown University. Returning back to southern California, Dr. Nezhad completed his neurology training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. He then continued his career at Cedars-Sinai, where he completed his vascular neurology training under the mentorship of Dr. Patrick Lyden.
After his time at Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Nezhad saw the need to bring expert neurology and cerebrovascular care closer to home in Ventura County. Since 2016, he has served as the stroke program medical director at St. John’s, where he has helped develop the local area's only Joint Commission-certified thrombectomy capable stroke center. More recently, Dr. Nezhad currently serves as the neuroscience medical director at St. John’s, where he strives to bring academic center-quality care to the community.
Dr. Nezhad is on staff and available for in-patient consultations at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, St. John’s Hospital - Camarillo, Community Memorial Hospital, and Los Robles Regional Medical Center, and is available for outpatient consultations at Link Neuroscience Institute. He and his team are able to perform EMG, NCV, TCD, EEG, BAEP, and VEP studies.
Charles E. Niesen, MD, is a pediatric neurologist leading a team of experienced providers at AMS Neurology in Pasadena, California, and throughout the Los Angeles area.
Dr. Niesen was born in Poughkeepsie, New York. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University in Israel.
He completed his pediatric training at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed his child neurology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Niesen spent two years doing post-graduate research in neurophysiology at the University of Toronto.
His first faculty position was with the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. After five years, he moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was an associate professor of pediatrics and director of the Division of Child Neurology.
Dr. Niesen is board-certified in child neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the Medical Research Council of Canada.
He is a specialist in childhood epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders of the brain and has published over twenty peer-reviewed articles on epilepsy and drug effects on the developing brain.
Dr. Niesen is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, the Child Neurology Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Society for Neuroscience. He is also the co-founder of the Pasadena Neurodevelopment Group.

In 1988, he earned an honors degree in medical biochemistry at the University of Cape Town. Between 1988 and 1991, he obtained a D.Phil in neuroimmunology at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He was College Lecturer in Immunology at Christ Church 1989-92. He was Yamanouchi Junior Research Fellow in Cell Biology at Wolfson 1991-2. Junior Research Fellowships are awarded to the top 2% of graduates at Oxford University. Between 1992 and 1997, he completed an internal medicine internship and then neurology residency at the University of California, San Francisco where he also served as Chief Resident. He has completed fellowships in multiple sclerosis at UCSF and in neuromuscular disease at Stanford University. He served on the faculty at Stanford University in the neuromuscular division before moving to the Valley in 1999 and has served this community as both an outpatient and inpatient neurologist for over 20 years.
He is published in laboratory and clinical neurology. He has served as an ad hoc reviewer for the journal Muscle & Nerve. He has been listed in Marquis Who’s Who Science and Engineering. He was selected as a Noticed Expert Network Distinguished Physician. He has been named a Southern California Super Doctor each year 2010-2023, and is listed in Los Angeles Magazine. He served as Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology and Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology for over two decades at UCLA, teaching the residents and medical students.
