Dr. Schoonover is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Osteopathic Association. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and is a distinguished fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists.
Outside the office, Dr. Schoonover loves hanging out with family. He has a wife and two daughters. He is an avid golfer and an active member of his church. He welcomes anyone suffering from migraines or other neurological issues to Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders today.
Sara Ramquist, DO, is a board-certified neurologist practicing at Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), which staffs convenient locations in Dayton, Centerville, Beavercreek, Springfield, Eaton, Wilmington, Hillsboro, and Vandalia, Ohio. With special interests in general neurology, headache disorders, and osteopathic manipulative medicine, Dr. Ramquist brings a comprehensive and holistic approach to the practice.
Dr. Ramquist obtained her bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific University in Washington before pursuing her osteopathic medicine doctorate at Pacific Northwest University - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Washington. She completed her residency at Kettering Health Dayton (formerly Grandview Medical Center) in Dayton, Ohio.

Dr. Ramquist finds immense fulfillment in caring for her patients, considering them the highlight of her profession. Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Ramquist enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her beloved dog. She also loves painting, drawing, and singing.

Kenneth Pugar, DO, MBA, dFACN, is a board-certified neurologist at the Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), which helps staff locations in Centerville, Beavercreek, Springfield, Eaton, Wilmington, Hillsboro, and Vandalia, Ohio. Dr. Pugar is the founder and president of DCND and works at the Centerville and Beavercreek offices. Over the years, he’s established DCND as one of the premier neurology practices in the state.
Dr. Pugar studied at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, also in Pennsylvania, and obtained a Master of Business Administration. Then, Dr. Pugar enrolled at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania, graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathy.
Dr. Pugar also completed residency training at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Dr. Pugar diagnoses and treats various neurological disorders, but he has a special interest in Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Pugar always puts patients first. He never rushes appointments and has a compassionate bedside manner, allowing him to build strong and trusting relationships with patients.
Dr. Pugar regularly participates in continuing education to keep his skills sharp. He stays abreast of neurology advances and works as a principal investigator for research trials focused on neurodegenerative disorders.
He also enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. He’s a teacher and mentor in the residency program at Kettering Health Dayton in Ohio (formerly Grandview Medical Center).
