Elizabeth Nadal, DO, joined the Avery Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2019. She is proud to partner with women in their healthcare from the practice’s locations in Westport, Fairfield, and Norwalk, Connecticut.
Dr. Nadal completed her undergraduate studies at Boston University, where she received a Bachelor of Science. In 2014, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at New York College. She went on to complete her residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and continued her experience with a focus on labor and delivery. Dr. Nadal also specialized in pelvic surgery and in-office procedures.
In addition to her focused research on endometrial cancer and maternal complications, Dr. Nadal received an award of Excellence in Laparoscopy during her time at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Amalia Kotlyar, MD, is excited to join the Avery Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology and focus on patient-centered, empathetic care in an intimate private practice setting.
When it comes to obstetrics, Dr. Kotlyar provides an individualized approach to pregnancy and birth experience. She believes in shared decision-making and empowering patients through information. She has a special interest in breastfeeding.
Dr. Kotlyar is devoted to caring for women of all stages. She enjoys adolescent gynecology and provides her youngest patients with a supportive environment to start their gynecologic care. She is passionate about reproductive choice and has expertise in comprehensive family planning, including complex contraception and permanent sterilization. She also enjoys caring for women during the transition to menopause and helps her patients optimize health and wellbeing during this time.
Additionally, Dr. Kotlyar has an interest in minimally invasive surgery, including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic cases. She has earned certifications in Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery as well as DaVinci Robotic Surgery. She has published on enhanced recovery after minimally invasive surgery in which patients are able to recuperate comfortably at home, rather than in the hospital, after their procedure. Dr. Kotlyar enjoys working with patients to determine an individualized approach to managing fibroids and adenomyosis, including both medical and surgical methods.
Dr. Kotlyar earned her medical degree from University of California – San Francisco. She completed residency at New York University Langone Medical Center. Outside of the office, Dr. Kotlyar cherishes the time she spends with her family.

Teresa Cheon, MD, FACOG, is a talented and passionate OB/GYN at NY Midtown OB/GYN. Dr. Cheon provides high-quality care from offices in midtown Manhattan, New York City and the town of Mamaroneck in Westchester County, New York.
Dr. Cheon proudly carries on the family tradition of Obstetrics and Gynecology, following in the footsteps of her father, an obstetrician/gynecologist, and her grandmother, who was one of the first certified midwives in her native country.

Dr. Cheon’s surgical expertise ranges from minimally invasive surgery to abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy. Her research interests have included the treatment of abnormal pap smears, novel methods of contraception, and prevention of delivery complications.
Maria Teresa Benedetto, MD, FACOG, is a skilled and experienced OB/GYN at NY Midtown OB/GYN. Dr. Benedetto provides high quality care from offices in midtown Manhattan, New York City and the town of Mamaroneck in Westchester County, New York.
Dr. Benedetto is active in clinical practice, teaching, and research for several years and is a strong advocate for patients who desire a natural birth, and as such, she has been highly successful in achieving vaginal deliveries after cesarean sections. She specializes in several surgical procedures, including laparoscopic surgery and vaginal hysterectomy.

Dr. Sophia Lubin is a proud first-generation Haitian-American. She is a single mother of two outstanding young men, Tyler and Maxwell. Dr. Lubin is a board-certified OB/GYN and a native New Yorker. She holds a BS in Biology from The City College of NY and obtained her medical degree from NYIT-New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She did her OB/Gyn residency training at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, now Mount Sinai –Beth Israel. Dr. Sophia, as she likes to be called, is a committed humanitarian who has provided medical relief efforts in places like the Dominican Republic and Haiti. After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, she was interviewed by Anderson Cooper and received a NYC Congressional Award for her work as a first responder. She continues to visit Haiti on an annual basis where she provides free OB/GYN care.
As a practicing OB/GYN, Dr. Lubin provides a wide range of services including but not limited to prenatal care, pap smears, sexually transmitted disease screenings, breast cancer screenings, birth control and the management of menopause. Dr. Sophia also uses her expertise to manage disease processes like irregular periods, fibroids, ovarian cysts and all surgical interventions as needed. Sheila D. Pongnon, MD, is a seasoned board-certified OB/GYN specializing in women’s health and the unique needs of women at Westchester Women’s Medical Healthcare in Mount Vernon and Spring Valley, New York.
Dr. Pongnon completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry from New York University before receiving her medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. She finished her OB/GYN training at the New York Medical College Westchester Medical Center.
For over a decade, Dr. Pongnon has remained dedicated to providing a range of services and diagnostic testing and treatment methods, such as physicals and well-woman exams, ultrasounds, lifestyle changes, medications, and surgery. A compassionate professional committed to the health of women at every life stage by providing thorough and efficient patient education, Alisha's background includes a 4-year highly competitive Physician Assistant Program at D'Youville College. Along with having experience working in the OB/GYN specialty for 4 years. As a healthcare professional, she is dedicated to delivering patient centered care in a diverse population. Craig M. Linder, MD, FACOG, is a caring, compassionate, and dedicated women's health care physician practicing obstetrics and gynecology at the FemmPro OB/GYN locations in Garden City and Massapequa, New York. Dr. Linder has more than thirty years of experience serving women in the community.
A highly grounded professional, he is known for his mild manner and lightheartedness, with a unique ability to put patients and their families at ease. Above all, he focuses his practice on delivering top quality health care to women.
Dr. Linder earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at SUNY Stony Brook, located in Stony Brook, New York. Then, he attended the Medical Academy of Wroclaw in Wroclaw, Poland, where he completed his medical doctorate. Dr. Linder completed his obstetrics and gynecology internship/residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, Queens. He is currently a Fellow of both the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
