Dr. Safie received her bachelor of science degree in chemistry from California State University in San Bernardino graduated Suma Cam Laude. She earned her MD from Harvard University in Boston, in 2000. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Joan Hazel Calinisan, MD, FACOG is an award-winning, board-certified OB/GYN who is passionate about helping women achieve and maintain optimal reproductive health at Trinity Women’s Health in Murrieta, California. She has a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and a keen interest in the latest reproductive technologies, anti-aging and menopausal health.

A graduate of the Biomedical Sciences Accelerated Program at the University of California at Riverside, where she earned her bachelor of science degree, Dr. Calinisan has an ongoing commitment to excellence in education. She achieved her MD with honors at the University of California at Los Angeles in 1997.

She then went on to postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. She’s received specialized training in pelvic floor repair, and laparoscopic hysterectomy.

Dr. Calinisan belongs to many professional organizations, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the American Medical Association. She is currently Clinical Professor in OB/GYN at Western University Medical School in Pomona, California, Touro University in Vallejo, California

Dr. Rastegar was born at St. John’s Hospital and grew up in Santa Monica, California. She attended local schools for elementary, middle and high school. Dr. Rastegar performed piano competitively and received the highest honor within the State of California, achieving membership into the prestigious Young Artists’ Guild.

However, Dr. Rastegar knew from a young age that her calling lay in medicine. She therefore chose to pursue a premed education at Stanford University, where upon acceptance, she was awarded the prestigious Presidents’ Scholar Grant for intellectual studies. Dr. Rastegar’s interest in women’s health could be evidenced as early as a prize-winning study of the effect of birth control pills on women’s health.

Following college, Dr. Rastegar spent two years at UCSF, involved in clinical researchon pulmonary disease. She then attended Case Western School of Medicine, in Cleveland, Ohio, where she did her clinical rotations at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic. While in medical school, Dr. Rastegar received an award for her community outreach project on fish consumption in pregnancy. It was during medical school that Dr. Rastegar’s passion for women’s health led her to the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Rastegar then returned home to Los Angeles and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She feels fortunate to be able to provide comprehensive care to women, ranging from normal pregnancy and preventative gynecologic care to the care of high-risk pregnancies, multiple gestations, individualized birth experiences, post-partum care, infertility, uterine, fibroids and polyps, abnormal pap smears, birth control counseling, painful periods, vaginal infections, ovarian cysts and more. Her rigorous training has also prepared her to handle a multitude of obstetrical and surgical emergencies. Dr. Lawrence Bruksch achieved his undergraduate degree in Biology at Northwestern University and his medical degree at the University of Illinois, where he graduated at the top of his class and with multiple honors, including selection to the exclusive Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, one of only two OB/GYN physicians in Santa Monica so recognized. Dr. Bruksch founded Plaza Towers Obstetrics & Gynecology, which was the busiest OB/GYN practice at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 1982-2002 and has been the busiest practice at St. John's Health Center from 2002-2012. Dr. Bruksch has performed the majority of gynecologic surgeries for the practice over that time, gaining a wealth of experience in all facets of surgery.

His special interests are urogynecologic surgeries, pelvic reconstruction and multiple and high risk pregnancies. Dr. Sushma Bhadauria, MD, MS, FACOG, is a Board-Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist and an Attending Physician at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She has over 15 years of experience in this specialty, including being a faculty at UCLA in the Department of Ob-Gyn and as a staff obstetrician and gynecologist at Cedars Sinai Medical Group. Dr. Bhadauria completed her four year residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA and Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. She worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and in 2006 she joined Cedars Sinai Medical Group as a staff obstetrician and gynecologist. Dr. Banooni has developed a very rich relationship with Cedars Sinai Medical Center, serving on their “Medical Executive Committee” and being a contributing member of their “Centers of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery.” Dr. Banooni is also very dedicated to successful hospital delivery outcomes and is a member of the “Performance Improvement Committee,” a departmental committee focused on improving patient outcomes with regard to delivery and care.

Dr. Peyman Banooni has dedicated his career to caring for women of all ages.  Dr. Banooni earned his medical degree from the University of California- San Diego in 1999 and he completed his OB/GYN residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in June 2003.

Dr. Banooni has lived in Los Angeles for the majority of his life. He maintains that his life's best accomplishment is one that he shares with his lovely wife and being the parents to three amazing young children.

Matthew Guile, MD, MS, is a physician practicing at Women’s Care of Beverly Hills, an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Beverly Hills, California. 

Dr. Guile earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, in 1996. Lia LaBrant, MD, is a skilled physician at Women’s Care of Beverly Hills, an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Beverly Hills, California.

Dr. Lia LaBrant graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Washington. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. LaBrant comes to us following many research projects and volunteer positions with rural hospitals in Ethiopia and Malawi, Africa. She spent time as well with an emergency service program providing aid in North Portland, Oregon.

Robert Katz, MD, FACOG, is one of the physicians practicing at Women’s Care of Beverly Hills, an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Beverly Hills, California. 

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr.  Dr. Katz completed his internship, residency, and chief residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Katz has been a premier provider for the women of Beverly Hills for over 25 years and has been named “Top Doctor” by US News and World Report and “Super Doctor” by the LA Times Magazine. Diahnn Campbell, MD, is one of the skilled physicians at Women’s Care of Beverly Hills, an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Beverly Hills, California.

Dr. Arjang Naim is a compassionate, well-known OB-GYN treating patients in Los Angeles, California, and the surrounding communities. His goal as a practitioner is to ensure that each of his patients is satisfied with the care that they receive. He holds certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

Raised in Los Angeles and New York, Dr. Naim attended the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in order to pursue his medical degree. He continued his medical education at the Maimonides Medical Center. Here, he focused on the study of obstetrics and gynecology.

Carla completed her B.S. degree in Nursing at Loma Linda University, and worked as a labor and delivery nurse at St Bernardines hospital for 10 years. She obtained her Woman's Health Nurse Practitioner certification at San Jose State University. Carla then received her Midwifery Certification through Charles Drew University, and is ACNM certified. She joined Woman to Woman OB/GYN Inc. in 1998, and has gained a great deal of experience working with a diverse group of women of all stages of life.

Carla has delivered over 1200 babies into the arms of their mothers. It is her utmost privilege to be a part of this sacred time in your life. Carla will use her skills, compassion, and knowledge to support you and provide quality OB/GYN care. In her free time Carla enjoys the beach, yoga, friends, and spending time with family.
