After graduating with his degree, he went on to complete his medical school training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during his junior and senior years.
He completed an internship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, engaging in intensive research for retinoblastoma (eye cancer found primarily in children) under the guidance of Dr. David Abramson. Following his internship training, he pursued his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was elected chief resident. He also received fellowship training in retinal surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
