Following her optometry degree, she completed a residency in Ocular Disease at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Salisbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. During her residency, Dr. Zaman provided comprehensive eye care to American service members and worked closely with specialists in glaucoma and retina. She managed complex conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, treated ocular emergencies, and fit veterans with scleral, soft, gas permeable and hybrid contact lenses. She participated in a mission trip to Honduras with Global Brigades, where she provided eye care to underserved communities, addressing various ocular conditions and helping correct refractive errors.
To further her education, Dr. Kaur attended the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry, leaving her hometown to immerse herself in diverse learning experiences. She was honored with an award for excellence in patient care and practice management by VSP vision and American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF). During her studies, she participated in multiple externships across cities in Puerto Rico and completed an international externship in Australia, at the University of Melbourne. Dr. Lacsina attended optometry school at S.U.N.Y College of Optometry, in New York City, and graduated in 2006 having 14 years of experience. He completed an ocular disease and ocular surgery externship at OMNI Eye Services, located in Iselin, New Jersey, followed by an ocular disease externship at VA Extended Care Facility in St. Albans, New York.
